Mart Smeets is really really horrible lol.

First he says Boom when Gesink attacked. Now he recognizes Boom as Terpstra. Seriously. He knows 0.00 faces

Should forgive him he's old and blind and the guy next to him should do the recognizing.

In America at least it's on the regular NBC broadcast . Thank goodness for that :) I don't have to listen to that tranquilizer guy ! I'm surprised no one is putting up the feed somewhere on the net.

The Austrian tv commentator is truely horrible, no wonder since they never show any cycling. Among the gems he's delivered in the five minutes I tried to listen to him he claimed that Greipel is at the Olympics for the first time because he's been "in the shadow of Ullrich" until now, and that Timmy Duggan is one of Liquigas' most important domestiques.

Is this mess a BBC broadcast??

I don't know, but the broadcast is not worthy an olympic road race. It's even worse than the Vuelta TT-coverage. Comparable sports had better tv-coverage and timing information in the seventies.

Embarrasing for the brits and BBC.

When they designed the writing in the side panel on the Slovenian jersey, were they expecting lots of TV shots of the riders lying on their backs?
Yes I saw it, too  Brajkovic lol

Well I guess it's always possible to do worse. I wonder though why in a tradition real cycling country like the Netherlands we have such horribly bad commentators.

I mean Austria and Britain, I can understaind crap commentary. But here? Shouldn't be... but all we have is crap commentators, wether I watch eurosport or NOS. Only the Belgians are good (but Wuyts too chauvinistic)

I find Eurosport to be okay with Nelissen. Agree on NOS though I almost never watch em..

What are the finish kilometers like? Just a long flat?

Final is like 40/50 km flat.

I must say the Olympic Broadcast sucks ***.

Very little on screen info. Once in a while we get to see how far they have to go and how much the peloton is behind, but that's it.
No info on where we are on the profile, when the next box hill climb is. No idea of the current gap most of the time.

And random images of the back of the bunch. Horrible.

That's because the broadcast is not live as yet. It is now. You'll see them coming up now with constant commentating.

Boogerd is al right when they have him in the mountain stages at the TDF.

Well, he sometimes has intresting things to say, and it's not hard to better then Dijkstra and Ducrot; so maybe Boogerd is just relatively al right. :p

The images aren't bad it's just no information that kills it.
