Why do all British rowers sound so similar?

They all have filthy upper middle class names like Mohamed Sbihi and Constantine Louloudis.

Yes you are right they are all working class heroes, Sbihi being born in the well known ghetto of Kingston-upon-Thames and Louloudis going to that infamously rough school Eton College. Rowers are by and large very upper-middle class in the UK. We are both British (I assume you are too?), and so we both know there is no point denying that. These guys have sat and dined in the same places as Tory grandees.

Former Australian runner Tasmin Lewis on the Australian TV coverage was really struggling to comment on how that race was run and won. You could tell she just could not believe what she had seen, how blatant. It was mentioned that the old world record was set by a runner with dubious links, impossible to get close to clean let alone smashing it by that margin.

And listening to how the English rowing coach has the golden touch because he takes the rowers to train at altitude, LOL.

Foster is a believer, Cram a little less so

Foster just wrote: "You see things pushed along sometimes - you think of Bob Beamon in the long jump - but I'm not sure what to make of that to be honest."

Blimey.

Is it a new strategy? Go for 1st place at a completely impossible full *** kind of pace to take some heat off the third-placed half-*** compatriot, a less of an unknown, who runs a slightly less unbelievable pace?

Unusually torrid pace for an olympic distance race.

#Athletics women's 10000m Alice Nawowuna #KEN faded to 4th place but her 29:53.51 would have been the 2nd alltime best perf before tonight

Short track

Everybody talking about short track - as in it's not 400m so they didn't actually run a full 10,000 metres? How amateurish would that be

Also how come it's taking so long for anywhere to show everybody's times? From what I saw the top 6 or 7 would be among the times of the previous top 3 fastest ever times..

I have no idea what any of you are talking about because literally all the BBC coverage right now is ROWING, where I'm finally getting over my hatred of Louloudis.

Really something fishy about this race.
Be interesting to see how the media handles it
