Hushovd is also a logical contender.

Besides i was not challenging it ( i will accept though ) but P-R seems suited to Cancellara very much so. Of course he can still win RvV's ( vice versa for Boonen ) though Devolder did win Flanders because Boonen let him.

Hushovd will never ever be a Paris-Roubaix contender, a Paris-Roubaix wheelsucker on the other hand, he is. And wheelsuckers in Paris-Roubaix, never win Paris-Roubaix.

The youngsters like Fenn or Trentin

Team strength:
Quick Step 2012 > Lotto 2012

PPS: I wonder why i spent time for this :rolleyes:

I expect great things from Trentin, if not this year, then the next

Then how come every year he is a favourite, or finishes high or has proven that he is ok at one day races ( WC Geelong )

he finishes high because he is a wheelsucker, wheelsuckers finish high but never win and he is called a contender just like frank schleck gets called a contender for the tour.

I'm going to say Lotto simply by looking at their leadout for Greipel Down Under. If Greipel takes over 20 wins by himself then the team will probably have more than Omega QUick Step. Henderson might get a couple. Same with vanendert and jvdb.

Omega Pharma Quick Step will probably win 1 big classic along with some sprints by Boonen, Chicci and Ciolek. But based on recent performances it wont be anywhere near 20. Probably less than 10. Martin should get a few TT wins like 5. Leipheimer maybe a couple wins. Chavanel will probably take a couple break away wins. It will be close but with Greipel winning Lotto will be hard to beat in the win count.

OPQS doing as well as I expected so far. Brilliant effort in San Luis.

Even Greipel's TDU madness couldn't compete with that for Lotto...

To be fair, Greipel's sprints are worth more than those of Chichi and Boonen. But what Leipheimer did, beating Contador, is pretty impressive even if my boy isn't in top shape yet.

Right now, I'd say they're going head to head evenly. 5-4 quantity wise in favour of QS.

Ps: Greipel's win the the CC classic was against a better sprinting field than Tour de San Luis, so obviously it should be counted.

OPQS have already demonstrated their great advantage over Lotto: they now have 4 wins with 3 different people. Lotto have 4 wins with the same guy.

A post-Tour crit is against a great field but it's still a non-classified NC.

They are classified the same i.e. worth nothing.

You mean the same clasification that puts Monuments on the same level as Tour of Beijing? It's the classification that's worth nothing here ;)

There is not really a comparison between a post tour crit and the TDU classic. Riders actually race for the TDU classic, not in a post tour crit.

Hmmm I'm starting to rethink my choice for Lotto-Belisol. Greipel's going to get alot of wins but it may not be enough. I didn't realize Tony Martin had over ten wins last year. If Boonen regains some form without injury he should also get quite a few. With Chicchi, Ciolek, Chavanel, Leipheimer, and Velits they should be able to get more wins. I think Velits will have a big year.

On quantity of wins: Lotto.

Aside: quality? points? I recon even stevens with a slight edge to QS.

I think Peter Velits will podium in the Tour. Not a lot of mountains, a lot of time trials and one year older. Risky prediction, but I'm standing by it :)
