Vanmarcke! I was thinking he had let the other two attack each other. Looked good. Didn't know if he would have the sprint. I thinking Phinney got 5th.

Sep Vanmarcke. What a rider. Boonen-Cancellara-Gilbert-Vanmarcke, the favourites for the classics this year.

Dunno if he has 260km in his legs, but I hope so.

Boy! I'm always rooting for flecha, but that was well deserved by vanmarcke. Good finale to a slightly disappointing race.

For those of us [or maybe it's just me] who don't know much, can someone tell me a bit more about Vanmarcke?

He was picked by half the CQ teams on this forum - one of the most obvious breakthrough performances waiting to happen.

So does Boonen get mad and go for KBK tomorrow, or does he take it easy? I would assume the latter.

He was very good but we're still six weeks away from Flanders. He certainly wouldn't be the first classics contender to be in shape too early in Omloop. The lad has thrown his hat into the ring though!

Well, I dont know too much about the guy, but I know he really caught my eye last year in doing really strong turns in the classics last year as a domestique endlessly being on the front of the bunch on all the difficult sections, great to see him get to go for his own chanches now
