What is your thinking behind Boom? He's a little young don't you think?

May be succumbing to hype, but he looks like having the possibility of doing something big. His cyclocross pedigree. He had a good result in the Tour of Wallonia (?) which is relevant if small, and won a stage of the Vuelta already. If not this race, he'll likely show up somewhere this year, maybe one of the classics.

[edit] I think I made that race up. He won the tour of Belgium. Also won the Dutch national RR an TT in 2008.

Grandpa's on wheels...

As someone who is easily old enough to be all of their's father (in fact I raced with Hincapie's) that kinda stings a little. I'll get over it, but they are all old, you're right about that.

Edit: I know that guy who suggested Baldato should "get on his bike" he is at least 10 years older than Fabio but I bet he would drop you.

I think he's one for the cobbled classics in the future, but maybe not quite this year.

errr he's older then EBH.
he can't win a race cause he's... - wait for it - .... 24!
That youngster sure has achieved a lot considering his age and all. But you're right, he probably is "too young".

Don't hold it against him, it's probably hard for auscyclefan to know much about Boom amidst the EBH deification on this board. He'll know about him soon enough, although I don't expect Boom to be in the mix in the Omloop, as he's slightly out of form.

Indeed.
And I agree, I'd like to see boom do well, but in terms with rabo I expect our best result from nuyens. Boom's performances this season have been below average, hoping he he peaks around flanders.

What i meant...
EBH has shown a lot more form than Boom at a younger age in the elite ranks. He has developed earlier as a road cyclist. that's why i would be very surprised if he podiumed was around at the end.

Boom and Boasson got 2 different careers so far.
It's not possible to compare at this point.

But back to topic:

1. Boonen
2. Haussler
3. Boasson

Exactly right. At the moment for boom is young really for the cobbles. yes a cyclo cross rider but has he really experienced much on the cobbles yet against the best? I don't think so. but in a few years time, likely! Don't take offence or take it to personal timmy!:D;)
