Anyway, some things to take home for the future:

-Sky's classics team is as good as was expected
-QS on the whole doesn't have the form they had last year
-Gilbert is human
-Belgian TV have hired the director from Cloverfield to do their camerawork

Worryingly for the other teams, Boonen, Gilbert, Haussler etc all did a lot of work today.. EbH did next to nothing, just sat in wheels all day.

Hes going to be tough to beat tommorow.

That looked like Hushovd coming in 1:30 behind, I wonder what happened?

Hushovd has been out with a cold for the last couple days/weeks and was working for Haussler all day. Led the Cervelo chace in the chasing group for miles.

Yea, tomorrow looks like a good day for him.

i have to say i love the unpredictable nature of the classics. one minute nuyens is looking like the strongest the next he is completely out of the race...that said, great win by flecha (loved getting to see his bow salute again)...i feel bad for guesdon he was up in front for so long and gets nothing out of it but i guess thats just the nature of the classics...all in all great start to the greatest time in the cycling year
