It does make sense, as it also makes sense that congenital amputees would have an advantage as well, but what I find interesting is that two types of amputees are competing in the same race, when the double-amputees clearly have the advantage.

I really don't understand the paralympics, and how people with quite different disabilities are competing with each other. It seems like an impossible playing field to keep level.

I think it's just a practical thing - numbers of elite level athletes in a specific category isn't always large enough, so categories end up being combined.

Difficult to imagine someone shooting their girlfriend. He would have to at least say "Freeze I've got a gun". At which point he should recognise her voice.

If he has a pattern of dodgy phone calls and witnesses to creepy behaviour that allowed him to shoot a dark shadowy figure on sight then that defence might hold.

There has apparently been incidents of a domestic nature involving the couple.

There were 4 shots fired

Apparently the neighbors have reported hearing a disturbance before the shooting

The Police have said that they are not the source of the idea Pistorius mistook her for a burglar.

That was my thought when I first heard this on the morning news.

It may be the reason, but there's an awful lot of domestic violence that has nothing to do with steroids, so there's a decent chance that more traditional causes underlie this incident.

If there was a drug involved, the law of averages suggests it would be alcohol.

Good point.

Any top sprinter track athlete is automatically at least suspicious in my mind.

Pushing the 4:1 ratio is more likely than not.

Yes I find it extremely likely that he at least uses some synthetic testosterone to boost his levels.

That said I was wondering if someone in here knew about connections he had with a doping ring or something. If there isn't and one of his friends, training partners or someone didn't come out and say he was a user then I doubt the media would pick up on this as a roid rage thing.
