I doubt it since mopvistar knows only one tatcic and that is ride one tempo to the final sprint/hill you will never see valverde attack earlier or teammates or forcing an increidble tempo on a climb. one of the most boring teams out there. thank god quintana(hopefully cobo too) is their future and not valverde

I think he meant just them pushing the pace slightly which they will certainly do.

Perfect for Sky? LOL!!!

Seems like an astute comment to me. Movistar keeping a high but consistent pace up this climb is pretty much what Wiggins would want them to do.

The Col d'Eze is like a 18-minute effort for the winner (versus 11+ minutes for the first TT) and suits guys like Wiggins, Kloden and Leipheimer. If Valverde manages to stay within 25 seconds of Wiggins he'll probably top 5 in that stage, if not top 3. That may have been realistic for the OLD Valverde, but I think it's highly likely that he'll lose much more than that now.

I beg to differ.

You're talking about the lenght of an effort not counting the conditions in which this effort is made.

The first TT contained the hill of 1.1km - 6.2%, there was a first time check of this TT on the top of this hill : 1.8km from the start (82 vertical metres) and Valverde was 2sec faster on this time check. Of course they might dose their efforts differently but nevertheless Valverde didn't lose time there. It means he had lost 31sec on remaining 7.6km.

Only last 1.6km are flat and another 2km slighty above 3%. Wiggo is faster there, no doubt. But that's all.
The remaining part of distance is steeper and i don't believe Wiggo can gain any time there.

Movistar can't chase everything, every day. Stage 6 and 7 are definite breakaway days.

First of all i said 1 out of of 2 stages since i'm aware that they can't chase everything and secondary they didn't chase yesterday (Rabobank did) and yet Valverde had a chance to contest the sprint.

dekker off the back
together with vanmarcke. Not the worst of companions.

Still...a lot of work to do. His physical tests are fine so the potential is there. The lack of race rythm is something that will take time to catch up too

Pretty poor performance by Dekker, one of the first to get dropped on the climb. A long way to go still for him.

Hopefully he'll do better in his comeback than Kash is doing in his.

Yeah, Kash looked pretty decent in the '10 Vuelta, better than Vino in '09 I thought, and then last year he barely raced and when he did he didn't show up anywhere. This year at P-N he's coming in the last group on the road every day. What's the deal?

I'd hate to say it's clinic related, but......

Kash was listed on Rusvelo roster for Ronde van Drenthe - official race site. Not sure what is going on there.

When do you guys expect them to finish?
I assume it won't be in the next 20 minutes? I better stop watching now and watch last 15km later...

No the last climb will take like 9 minutes and it's not until 3k to go.
