Contador is 1:10 behind the leading group at the moment.
Where are Benna and Toso to help Berto out? Oh, right, they were "too old" according to Trek

Even GC riders who are well protected are dropping out the back - At the same time, one or two teams with classic squads should be riding better.

Thuens and Rast are at the race and Degenkolb has probably been told to stay in the front group to try and get something out of the race.

I don't know what Trek's priorities are in this race, but Alberto needs a true helper like Toso or Benna. In my opinion, Trek has made a mistake bringing only Degenkolb as a strong rider for stages like these. And when he has his own agenda, Alberto has to look to the climbers like Pantano as we saw yesterday. Horrible.

Of the GC guys, Zaka, Ala, Henao and Galop are in front. Contador group 1:20 late and Richie is lost further back 2:40

What a pity that in July there is almost no chance to have the flat stages like this.

I'm 99% sure, Berto would be in the first group if he had Benna or Toso. That is all!

Well he made the front group originally and got dropped.

So there's still 100k of riding to do! Bet there's quite a few riders step off today and decide to go for a beer instead.

Henao vs. Zakarin vs. Alaphilippe (definitely the lesser climber, but I think he has the best form) for the GC.
