Gotta wonder about the internal situation at Katusha. I know they have Kristoff up front, but Zakarin is essentially losing all hope for a good GC position as it stands.
I don't get it. It's not like the 2nd group is filled with strong sprinters.

Looks like the only Trek riders in that 2nd group are Degenkolb and Contador... useless

When was the last time he had a/was in a decent team?

It's quite embarrassing to see.

They've been doing a lot of work in the 2nd group

Racing so far this year has been very aggressive. We had Omloop, KBK, Strade and now Paris Nice. The Giro and Vuelta have always been raced hard, so let's just hope that the TDF and the Ardenaines will keep the same trend.

Really stupid, honestly.

People complaining about 'week' teams: remember it's Contador, Porte, Zakarin's etc. fault to be caught out in the first place.

Really? Vuelta 2016 happened a few months ago.

He's got 2 teammates there. It's just one of them won't work.

IOW, his team is ***. Only 2 made it and one of them doesn't care.

A real shame that the GC probably will be decided on stage 1. At least we have a battle between Henao and Ion, but it would amaze me if Ion doesn't have a 2:30+ advantage on Porte/Contador come Thursday.

This could be a blessing in disguise for the race.
I mean, Contador and Porte are here for the GC, I doubt they'll settle for stages.

We all know you are very mad at this point, but 1) its his own fault and 2) he actively chose to ride for this team.

Looks bad for Alberto and Porte :( gap's growing bit by bit

It's just wonderful to see this. Everyone was getting heated up for their battle and now it looks like it could not be for the GC or if they have to do a lot of work for it. That's how it should be.

Wil everyone stop saying Contador deserves a better team...He has a good team or as good as anyone's

Alos this race will be now wide open and we will see more attacking far out....could be on another day Contador/Porte/Bardet etc work together to get time back

It does not mean race over imo
