Contador... not looking that great..

He and the others who took pulls got dropped. Those who took not a single solitary one gained time.

No matter what team Contador is on, his team are never there for him.

What a great stage. Demare must be close to a favourite to retain MSR on the back of that show of power. Also pretty humiliating for a few big names who have targetted this race as their early season main objective.

What an absolute killer of a stage.

I still say Porte is the favourite, especially after Alberto strangely lost 17 seconds.

Yes. But.

The same as for Sagan. It was their decision.

Everyone is going mental this year! Absolutely love 2017 so far!

Demare, Kristoff, Gilbert and even Greipel are showing they will be ready for La Primavera

What would you rate these guys chances for a overall win now? I'd say:

Henao 20%
Dan Martin 15%
Gallopin 10%
Alaphilippe 5%

Gallopin is usually a GC candidate in smaller races like P-N. I expect him to be great.

Dififcult to see how Henao loses this with the form he is in and the team he's got.

I don't see why it would be strange. Contador and Zakarin took pulls, got dropped. Porte didn't, so he didn't. Makes sense to me.

Actually scratch that, Zakarin finished with Porte. Didn't notice him

Look at the gap those two freaks opened. :surprised:
Who LRP and Bardet?

Demare and Alaphilippe I guess.
Alaphilippe had no better chance than what he tried, Demare I was more surprised with. Grinding up and then taking a big pull, the end was never in doubt then.

Actually really smart by Demare cause who would chase out of that group? No one had anything left in the tank so he just went with the first attack that appeared. Even as a QS-fanboy I have to applaud him for that. Cause like you said in a two-man sprint he would win against anyone of that group.

Swap Martin with Alaphilippe. He will lose a decent amount of time in the TT.
