Quintana having a nice early season. Unfortunately, everybody goes on holiday now.
Little underwhelming GC battle today, but a good effort by Benoot and nothing to be taken away from Schachmann.
Congrats.

Benoot was super strong on the final 2 stages, one could also say that he lost the race in the crosswinds on stage 2.

If this was really the final meaningful race of the season, and although I fully believed it should not have taken place, Paris-Nice was once again an amazing week of racing.

Chapeau to all riders, the ones who stayed and the ones who left earlier.

And goodbye cycling :(

Benoot's attack was maybe a little too late… but, hey! I'm not sure the space-time continuum could have survived if he'd gotten two wins in as many days.

Another great stage for the 2020 Paris-Nice edition. This stage had great drama throughout, with a fine breakaway group and then the late attack by Quintana. Schachmann defended his jersey well. Others made bold moves . . . lots of courage and panache. A bittersweet conclusion to this part of cycling for 2020.

Fuglsang is in that mix too ;)

Probably 2nd best, but the distance between is difficult to tell. But that attack from Nairo reminded me of the good old "Big 4" Quintana. And that version of Quintana was capable of challenging/beating peak Froome and Contador, the two best climbers the past generation, and some of the best in history. A shame that Nairo had two/three lost years, before finally rejuvenating himself.

Bravo Nairo, and again TDG on the attack: what a rider! He deserved better. Not much GC action, but still, it's nice to watch a bike race.

Good stage. Nibali didn't have the form to finish off Trek's team work. De Gendt gave it everything and Quintana seems like the older version so far this season. Higuita had a good race as well.

Looks like Quintana finished both first and last today.

Ah, not after all. I just lost track of how many was actually in the race after all the DNSing and DNFing.

Chapeau all around, Schachmann for the gutsy GC win, Quintana for the brilliant stage victory, and Benoot for a brave final attack that fell just short.

Days like today remind me what pro cycling is all about. I'll miss it.

Degenkolb 18th on a 16k MTF and 16th in GC at Paris-Nice. He looked strong all week. Too bad the classics are off.

Congrats to Schachmann, very Happy for him!

Happy and gutted for Nairo - seemingly found a way to become once again the rider I almost thought I wouldnt see again, and does this at by far the worst time possible....
Still, the year is long, lets see what happens!

Great stage win by Quintana, who found his best climbers' legs back. It's a pity that the GC was decided by a crash in a transitional stage and by a dubious jury decision.
