Incredible sprint by Laporte, who would probably have sprinted better himself.

But damn that Jakobsen made van Aert look like an amateur there. Really incredible how easy it is for him to win at the moment, even more so when you realize it all happened just 1,5 year ago. By far the fastest in the world.

Congratulations to Jakobsen for taking the win.

It was a nice and dynamic stage race today. Was hoping van Aert will take it, due to Jumbos doing a good job to get him there. But OK. Hard to not cheer for Jakobsen and enjoy when he wins. If in such situation van Aert would be behind Groenewegen, then who knows what would happen. Laporte help for van Aert on the Tour?

GC in the bag now for WVA? (maybe not 100% joking)

In retrospect I almost wish Hirschi's run of form in 2020 hadn't happened as it may keep them afloat.

Yeah their incredible 2020 COVID season is keeping them alive. And if they just get another bad season like last year they'll probably survive because of it. If they actually do even worse and LTS or Cofidis has really good season it's possible they actually relegate.

Tbh, they might just fold. No way sponsors stick around if they perform like this the whole year. I guess pressure on Bardet in Tirreno.

Looks like Laporte was faster than Van Aert today? Guy's in monstrous form, never seen him better.
Which makes me wonder what the team tactic is there. What was the point in having Laporte take the intermediate points if he is then leading out van Aert for the stage, knowing that he would be second favourite for the stage. If they want to position Laporte for the green jersey (the logical conclusion from yesterday's finish order, and from the intermediate today), what's the point in van Aert taking points off him today?
