Simon Yates must be the most random cyclist in the peloton.
In his day he can be very good TTer and the best climber.. When he is off, he can be terrible. Thing is you never know who is gonna show.

About Jumbo, completely expected performance 1-2 was pretty much locked for WVA and Roglic an Denis seemed to save himself (??) for the TT.

In a Grand Tour, tomorrow would be the perfect breakaway stage.

But I think it will be a 10-riders sprint between Roglic and Wout.

should be a fun stage tomorrow, especially now that Turini is unsure. Would be surprised not to see Quintana in the attack on the Col de la Mure

Some of you seem rather sure about that. But i think i do understand from where you are coming from. Roglič has six racing days in 2022 and still no wins. Add his 3 teammates wins on top of that.

Today's profile looks fun but I'm a bit nervous that JV are just too strong for anyone to even bother trying anything.

I don't think they are that strong. Teunissen and Laporte should be gone as soon as they start pushing on the climbs, and Van Hooydonck not much later. Dennis is a bit of a gamble, he could either be dropped with the sprinters or drop Simon Yates himself.

If i were INEOS, i would try to push on the first climb, which is right after the start, and send Van Baarle and Martinez in the break. It is feasible to force them to at least sacrifice Van Aert. If they wait until the final climb in each stage, Jumbo is going to secure 1-2.

Sucks, but Colbrelli already had to quit with Bronchitis, so it's probably going around in the team...
same for Ag2r. Champoussin is the next not to start, after O'Connor yesterday. Also Vaughters tweeted that plenty of the EF guys are sick

If I was preparing here for the classics, I would DNS today to prevent catching whatever bug is going around the peloton, could be a struggle for all those who have fallen ill to be at 100% in two weeks unfortunately...
Different kinds of reasons are forcing them out.

The profile alone should be enough to break the bunch into pieces.
The harder they ride the better.
