What we can expect from Duo Almeida and Mcnulty today? Can Almeida go on break or try climb 2 places in gc. Can Mcnulty go for the stage win?

I don’t think they have ever taken that route, no.
Okay, that was what I thought. I was looking at the profiles for the last 20 versions now. For the first decade in the 2000s they used the combo of Porte, La Turbie from the west then descended to Nice and climbed Eze from the west. And the last decade first the combo of Chateauneuf-Calaison-Peille before different takes of Eze or Quatre Chemins from the west? An interesting alternative to these would be La Turbie from La Trinité, descend to Cap d'Ail and then climb Eze they way I described in the privious post.

Like this (from page 2)?
An alternative would be to have the Eze TT back, but as the penultimate stage (with a difficult final stage as has been the norm in the past two decades).

I take it the two in front of JV are the break so far, or did they sprint for the points?

Simon Yates said in his post race interview that everyone was totally on the limit, apart from roglic who was barely breathing. He doesn't think he can take the lead from Roglic today and will be more interested in defending against martinez

BEX has sold Yates up the river - Three non-starters today which leaves BEX with a team of two for the final stage - Yates will need to be vigilant and require a dose of luck.

Astana managed to get Felline up the road, so BEX have no excuses (unless they have secretly employed Felline for the day).
