It was a dumb move by Powless and a waste of energy.
Not necessarily. He could get KOM points at the very least.

I've ridden that little climb dozens of times. It's the best place to attack before 17 Turns. The problem is that there's a lot of wide straight road between the two climbs.

He was hoping for someone to go with. A small group could’ve worked together and stayed away.

You would not stay away when the following climb was easier than the one he attacked on. 110 riders finished on the same time which indicates there was plenty of firepower in the peleton.

I quite like the idea of a collage bone, myself. A bone that's been broken and put together so many times it looks like something your six-year-old brought home from art class.

I think there might be quite a few (current and former) pros with collage bones.

They still added subtitles on Sporza last week when he answered in Dutch ;). Was quite funny to see. It didn't sound that bad.
That's completely meaningless on VRT. Basically every Dutch/Flemish tv show, interview.... is being subtitled. Only the news broadcast and a few other things don't get subtitles. Currently looking at "Het Verhaal van Vlaanderen" which has university professors as commentators and a professional actor to tell the story... every word is subtitled.

They used to do this for heavy local accents and dialects, because there are some parts of Flanders where people have a congenital birth defect that leads to speech impediment. So they started subtitling that, but then those people got offended, and so they started subtitling everyone.

Tadej is playing the same game against Jonas at the Tour, he hasn't learned.

On this race Pogi doesn't have to worry about JV numbers game. Hence if he can gain something he should attack. Especially as Jonas might get a couple of "bonus" seconds at TTT.

Congratulations to Tim Merlier for wining the sprint.

As for GC battle. Day one, sprinters stage and Pogi already isolated Jonas twice and gained 6 bonus seconds. In my opinion teams won't play that big role on this race. It's in between them.

Coming from behind, using the slipstream of guys going 70kmh gives a significant advantage. We've seen this dozens of times. Doesn't mean he would have won if he were up front instead.
Didn’t look like he had that much drafting compared to the usual way back style sprint. Would certainly have been 2nd at worst imo if better position on the final bend.
