This is a great flat stage for students of agriculture being there are fields left and right, at least the greenery has a fresh spring look to it. And the little villages they ride through jazz things up a bit... with 65km to go you gotta look at the positives!

I think it's great that riders don't want to try for breakaways with no chance of success. In the past they got 10 or more minutes, but nowadays just 2 or 3 and that's it. Who wants to do all that work for nothing. This isn't a GT where wildcard teams feel obliged to sacrifice their riders so the peloton has something to chase.
