These slower sprints it’s always better to come from behind and start your sprint later. The strongest after a harder stage.

Also Pedersen attacking cost him some freshness.

Today's update on Saturday's stage:

(gt) The snow forecast for Friday in the Southern Alps should unsurprisingly force the organizers of Paris-Nice to review their plans regarding the 7th stage on Saturday between Nice and the Auron resort (1,614 meters above sea level). According to a source close to the matter at RMC Sport, it is a matter of “playing it safe, without distorting the spirit of the race too much”.

In this sense, the organizer ASO sent an emissary this Thursday morning to reconnoitre the roads in the Nice hinterland to study the possibility of modifying the route. “The passage through the Vésubie valley and therefore through the Col de la Colmiane, the descent of which on a potentially snowy or icy road seems unlikely,” according to this same source.

As for the arrival at Auron, it could pose less of a safety problem as there is no descent behind. Despite everything, it may be complicated for the organizers to keep it on the program.

It sounds like a Monoclimb for Saturday.
