Remco saying UAE did weird tactics?
To me Soudal did the weird tactics here... Yes UAE was in yellow, but lets be honest it's Remco's race to lose not McNulty's.
And for Almeida it was all about not lose too much to Remco today, not a ideal Almeida stage.
Soudal riding the front like Jasper Philipsen was riding for GC, and with the bump at the end of the race, they couldn't have thought he was going to win going uphill..?

Really? I thought he had done altitude before this race, cause i saw his photo with MvdP and i thought he was at altitude to prepare the classics. Where does Remco goeas to altitude to anyway?
Remco and Van der Poel both live somewhere near Moraira, which is somewhere in between Valencia and Alicante, which is where those photos are taken. Altitude training happens on Teide.

Roglic is waiting for the last stage. He is further behind than he would have liked, but he is racing against Remco. 40 seconds right now but it is still possible to flip around in the last stage, if he is strong.

However, letting Buitrago gain this much might come back to haunt everyone. He climbed really well last year, especially in the Vuelta, and he could have a breakthrough this season.

It will be difficult for Plapp to hold on to the lead, I reckon.

I think it is between Buitrago, Remco and Roglic for the win here.

Jorgenson is in prime position, if the others race too much against each other and he slips away.

Skjelmose is just too far behind but could be an ally, if he can follow any of the others in a decisive attack on the final stage.

Bernal is in a good position but I dont know what to make of it yet.

Almeida, eh. I would be happy if wins the whole thing but I dont think he will.

The photo ( Boro) that Cycling news used for UCI " investigation " into the helmet is priceless!!
I spent @$230 bucks for a Specialized TT helmet years ago and it made me ashamed!! Not only did I feel and look stupid wearing it.. Went to district time trial championship, and I was passed by a riders behind me at 30 second start intervals!!
One guy overtook me going so much faster than me that wind blew a little sideways!?!
And a couple of years later someone wore the helmet at a party and it caused uncontrollable laughter for all who saw it..
Can't wait to see how many people show up wearing them!!

That is true, but they also both seem to stay in that hotel where altitude is simulated frequently. How that compares to being at altitude I don't know..

You can't make this **t up!!
Seriously?
Not that serious.
It’s sad this always seem to happen with those who are scrutinized the most, but Remco thought Buitrago was ahead and they were sprinting for second and third, so he was relaxed about one rider (skjelmose) overtaking him at the line as he thought he would have 4 bonus seconds. He thought Plapp was reeled in earlier.
Edit: I reacted without seeing other, similar comments later in the thread.

Some people saying Evenepoel might win this race???

I thought he was just a TTer who can't climb and just beats up on lesser riders.
Allow me to assist!
  • It's a minor prep race for the Tour.
  • The others aren't really trying to win.
  • There isn't any real climbing in this race.
  • Pogi and Vingo aren't here.
  • Roglič is aiming for July.
Please bookmark and use for future reference. Most will work for the Dauphiné as well. :D

The point still exists. And I like Remco, but this stuff is getting old. It makes for great entertainment and memes, but it doesn't help him or his team with their racing.
