Ineos pulling and bringing the gap down again. Is this Bernal weather?
His best performances have all come at colder, often rainy weather. Before as well as after his crash. Tignes, Campo Felice, Monte Zoncolan, Cortina d'Ampezzo. He was amazing in that soaking Tirreno stage to Castelfidardo too, back when he was still working that messed up back.

Thyon 2000 was not really a good performance per se, but it was his first major result coming back from that crash, and there is of course Gran Camiño this year too.

But I would find it rather hard, not to say unbelievable, to see him not only opening a gap on what isn't exactly his forte, but staying away on 20 kilometers of (false) flat.

I agree it's unlikely for Bernal to (solo to the) win today but in this weather they might see it as a chance to eliminate some competitors for the final GC podium if they make it hard.

Or they want to play with their numbers having also Rodriguez and De Plus high on GC?
