Unfortunately I think De Gendt will lose the jersey again tomorrow, hope I'm wrong.

I think if they can't do the language of the country the race is held in the next step is English.

I would assume that they could do an interview in French with Thomas Voeckler though...

If he were to keep it that would probably mean that the GC contenders were pussies again. Hopefully we see some GC racing tomorrow.

Oh of course, I stopped watching and thought you were talking about De Gendt for some reason. Yeah, that is strange. Must be the ASO's decision.

What I find amazing is that with Goss hanging on the back, for almost 20kms nobody thought to close down the break a little and get rid of the Australian in the process.
It's OK for Haussler to be a bit miffed at the finish, but why didn't he put some blokes on the front earlier?
The result was that the peloton didn't close so much as a bike length on the break, until they hit the wide open roads.
Even then, if it wasn't for Rabobank, they wouldn't have been in the tv picture, when Voeckler crossed the line.

T Voeckler is a class act- what a warrior- tried yesterday & gave a go today without hesitation-no script, no tactics, no bvllsh!t-just pure riding-gotta love the French:)
love it!!!

The peloton were chasing pretty hard for most of the last 20km. At least, that's what it looked like from what I was watching.

Impressed by Thomas. Can't blame Voeckler for taking the win, but Thomas was clearly the strongest by far.

The savior of this edition of Paris-Nice so far. Has ruined 2 sprinting stages already, good job!

Confusing use of the name Thomas :p

There are two men in the PN peloton that try to fight with the total boredom of this year's edition. Thomas and Thomas :)

From km35 to km15, a few riders were working hard on the front of the peloton, but there was little organisation.
An observation picked up on by DH and SK.

1 Thomas Voeckler (Fra) Europcar
2 Remi Pauriol (Fra) FDJ
3 Thomas De Gendt (Bel) Vacansoleil-DCM
4 Remy Di Gregorio (Fra) Astana
5 Heinrich Haussler 0:00:13
6 Peter Sagan (Svk)

I see Sagan didn't learn any lesson from yesterday's stunt!
Second in the bunch sprint.

Don't forget Thomas, who is also putting in sterling performances.

(OK, I'm confused. Are you talking about Voeckler and de Gendt, and me Geraint, or you de Gendt and Geraint and me Voeckler? )

I don't think De Gendt was necessarily stronger than Voeckler. They just didn't have the same objectives today.

I actually meant De Gendt and Voeckler, but now I see my mistake, it should have been: (Geraint) Thomas, Thomas (Voeckler) and Super Thomas (De Gendt)

Goss finished last in the main peloton. The group who got left behind on the 3rd cats just soft-pedalled to the finish, coming in 13 minutes down. Doesnt look to have been anyone there who has been touted as a contender. Gee was there and I know some people were wondering if Geraint Thomas might try to go for GC but that thought has now been extinguished. Always looked a bit unlikely with Wiggins and Rogers going for GC, the team needs to be at their best for them rather than chasing 25th on GC.

From Gee's twitter/facebook:

No luck today. Crash then blew out my tub chasing on the decent. No chance of getting back when the race is on!! Break rode well!!

Anyone know what happened to Pavel Brutt? Did he just have a horrible day? Crash? Thanks!

Yeah, De Gendt got what he was riding for this time. Back in yellow. I never saw that coming. One happy sponsor I think. Good to see their Karma returned, after their positive and supportive stance when **** was hitting the fan from all sides, a couple of months back.

Also saying to McQuack "STFU"... great PN for Vacansoleil already!

“De Gendt was stronger than me,” Voeckler acknowledged afterwards, and he was full of praise for the Belgian, who took the yellow back after Matt Goss’ interlude. “He rode hard because of the advantage he had on GC. I’m not easily impressed but today, De Gendt really impressed me.

Awesome stuff! I get to see the stages on youtube clips once I get from work so I have no idea how the breakaway started, but very impressive by De Gendt and Voeckler winning is always fun.
