Watch out for Hoogerland. Barely named here.
Showed good form in february already and has been hiding himselves the last 3 days, he said.

Hoogerland normally never hides, so now he actually saved energy for once.

I would love to see him ride well here, fingers crossed.

I've heard his name bandied about, but I don't know much about him. Where has he had his biggest wins (mountains wise)?

Their pace must be slowing. The gap is coming down even though the chase looks like it has slowed.

i clocked 1 min 20 sec in 10 km to currently dip under a minute already. that's driving?

Other trains begin the charge early. Pereiro has been grafting on the front.

Can't see Johnny H winning this.

Hoogie is more famous for his attacking riding to be honest, . That being said he has picked up a lot of smaller race wins (especially in 2008 i think).

And last year he was very impressive. he won the Driedaagse van West-Vlaanderen. But in terms of climbing, he managed to come 12th at the vuelta and attacked at every chance possible. Was very impressive. He also got 5th at lombardia, not bad.

I think the break must have decided to phone in their performance now that it is obvious they will be caught. They are losing lots of time even though the chase is not that organized.

Astana shelled 4 guys already?

You have a Cat 2, a 500 meter descent and then Mende. Their work is effectively done.

It is utter chaos in the peloton.

Boom one of five Rabo, riding the bus.

Rabo have a pretty weak team at P-N, think they've achieved as much as they can at this race. That being said were a little unlucky with the leader mollema pulling out with the flu.

Woott! here we go.. should be a good last 10km

I wonder if Saxo giving responsiblity to chase down the break to Astana indicates that Frank Schleck does not rate his chances very good.
