How did he get only 37 secs behind?

It was a bit random to choose to put him at 37 secs though. I guess that was the finish time that most riders finished at so that was the closest to peloton they could find eventhough it was only 5 other riders finishing on that time.

Thanks for the highlight video. Must've been embarrassing for Tondo. Carnage.

I was absolutely convinced Rojas was there. There could have been no other reason. There was no reason whatsoever for Tondó to take it up - not steep enough for him, not difficult enough for him. All it achieved was him dragging everyone else to the line, then them sprinting past him and him falling over. They've done some baffling things in their time, but Unzué's teams aren't completely stupid. Rojas being there but crashing seems a sensible enough explanation since the chances of Tondó taking time in that final kilometre were slim to none.

At first I thought Movistar were just working because Martin had been caught out by a split, but then they carried on when he got back, and for the rest of the stage. Pretty sure i saw Rojas roll in about half a minute after the Tondo group, so he must have been with them up until very late.

Ya, looking at the results list it's clear that Rojas was there.

Riding for Rojas would make a little more sense than riding for Tondo but still pretty foolish.

They rode like a team with a leader's jersey or with a sure-thing fast finisher for the stage. They have quite a few strong riders who could have had a go for the stage and they exhausted themselves setting tempo:confused:

I hope Movistar doesn't ride like that all season. They're a team with depth rather than superstars so they should really be trying to stir things up and create opportunities.

I wish the mods hadn't shut down that injury report thread - that would be useful on a day like today.

Kroon alone up front. Rabo toiling out the back, leaving the Dutch Mafia in dismay.
ACF tucked up in the land of nod, with his BMC bidon and Cuddles teddy bear.
Too bad, lad!:D

Meh, Kroon is dutch so it is hard to barrack for him as he could apply for dual citizenship as a ACF or Dutch Mafia member. He's the only rider both Mafia's support.

I only have to use that pic as my avatar for 1 more week!!!! Counting down the days!

I don't want to sound mean and I hope Tondo is alright but his fall at the finish was pretty hilarious!

Ahhhhh Di Gregorio... Now I can sleep in peace... He totally deserves that win... I'm really happy for him! Vino has a really good eye to sign new riders... Kreuziger attacking, Kiserlovski attacking, Di Gregorio taking a victorty... Vino has really worked those guys ;)

ok but officially it's s http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/kiserlovski-recovers-from-fright-of-his-life oh never mind...

his next race is Giro del Trentino as per the article above. but he sounded really scared in that interview (can imagine). good if he is not "broken" mentally.

Never mind, for S or Š.
Kišerlovski is allready in Croatia, (Rijeka) recovering at his home. They are cycling family and his brother Emanuel is strong rider too.
We will se how is going to be, according local papers he is having 6 stiches:D (CN says 8), and was in really bad shape, he asked his doctor 50 times where he is.

I just saw Kišerlovski on news, he is really, really looking bad with those stitches. But he announce his goal for this year Giro white jersey:)
He told that he was screaming under that truck.
