All back together now. There'll be a break away on the next climb you'd think. When does coverage start?

Sagan dropped! May get back on on the descent but with two cat 1 climbs to follow likely not to win this one, depends how hard they race!

I think Tony Martin is a worthy P-N Champion. He's a fantastic rider and I love watching him turn himself inside out - he does not make it look easy. I hope a big win like this gives him an itch to really see what he can do with his future. Is his contract up this year? It would be great to see him using that power to make the peloton chase him instead of him leading the peloton against the break.

My disappointment with this race has been that we never really got to see serious climbing. Even if it were only for a few minutes, I would have liked to have seen the riders all suffering and feeling alone and out of the saddle. We just didn't get that.

For today, I'll cheer for a Frenchman in a breakaway or for a Vino/Astana win for Kivilev.

7 riders already given up today. Must be a hard (albiet "boring") race.

Did you see how much climbing they put in the Tour of California stage to Big Bear? There was tons of it. People were giving up left right and centre.

But it was still a boring race.

Km 88 - Kroon and Berthou lead the main bunch by 5:30
On the 1st cat, with still 120 odd kms to go.
The headwind is toughening up the course, which is good, no?

Maybe we'll see Movistar get on the front and try to split the bunch for Xavier Tondo.

And another 2 drop out! Jurgen van de Walle (OLO) and Francesco Gavazzi (Lampre)

I can understand Gavazzi dropping out, He could go well at M-S-R and no real reason to carry on. Surprised Roche And Capecchi giving up though.

Looks like this could go down to whether or not Feillu, Goss or Sagan survive.

Final km is 6%, they would need a strong team to keep it together long enough for them to have a sprint at it.

The riders don't have to watch the tedious rubbish they sometimes serve up. So yes, to the riders the Big Bear stage may have been really exciting, but to us watching at home it was dreadful.
