Contador,Valverde,LL Sanchez. There's a cat 3 climb right after the start, and another uphill section in the middle of the course.
I know it's a long shot,but how about Xavier Tondo for a top 5 result?

As usual there's a climb right from the off. As usual, it's not exactly warm.

So, as usual we'll have a jumbled-up results sheet with a few surprises, because it's going to have a LOT to do with who can do a really good warmup and who can't.

How about Rick Flens then? Seems to be in good shape, used to do well on short TT's,he likes cold weather(2nd in KBK). Might be up there.;)

Ooh, forgot about the climbing. Maybe Larsson wasn't the best bet for a podium.

Martin, Contador & Sanchez for me then.

Larsson also only does well in major TTs when he spends 8 months training specifically for nothing but a single one day TT.

Anyone can do well when they do that. Also, this one's far too short for him

Just checked out what he's won - I thought he had more victories than that :s

i always see geraint thomas mentioned in this forum. how good is his tt?

so far, only reasonable, but this is the first year hes concnetrating solely on the road, hes only 22, hes had better results on the track than wiggins, and is targetting prologues. it doesnt mean he will win, but you never know until you try your hand. he has the ingredients.

plus its national bias, and he seems a top young man

1. AC
2. Geraint
3. Martin

For those asking, Geraint can TT with the best of them. Many think he can ultimately be better than Wiggins. He won the baby Giro d'Italia a couple of years ago. Last season was ruined by serious injury, but he came back and with relatively little training did a 4.15 pursuit. Apparently he's targeted this stage as an early-season objective, so think Chris Boardman 1994 TDF prologue for this one - guy well known in GB but not elsewhere, comes along "out of nowhere" to surprise the established stars.

Looking at the profile, the PN prologue isn't really your average track cyclists' TT. Among the youngsters, I think this TT is more suited for someone like Lars Boom.

Another chuckle at Sky's self-professed "attention to detail" (Tm):

Greghenderson1 P-N TT today. @teamsky just have that attention to detail. Here is my own laminated schedule card. http://yfrog.com/17w4kmj

Please note entry 3, 11am "Pre-race mean". Is that similar to a pre-race meal then?

Gotta love Sky's attention to detail!

True, but then GT isn't your average track cyclist ;)

It's going to be interesting in any event. Is there a live stream anywhere?
