changed the bikes, the gussetts are gone. Check the pictures of Contador in the prologue. Haven't heard, but I'm guessing they have temporary approval, and in May they'll be approved.

Thanks. They said after training camp that Contador and Faustino Munoz gave the Specialized techs so much good input that they were going to come up with a new bike for the Tour. If that was a road bike, it would be good to have the TT bike settled so they can focus on the prototypes.

That's just really really sad. I wonder what he'll say after Mende?

Good ride for Levi, pity he wont have a chance to challenge in July.

Well done to Boom.

Don't be too hard on them... the live coverage hadn't started yet when Boom rode. The only available footage is of him finishing.

I saw that later in the show. Still, we have to pick on VS don't we?

Maybe I should mention the little piece on "Lance Armstrong's new team, put together over the winter."

I couldn't believe that either when I heard it.

Levi had a good ride, but Boom had a better ride, and so did Jens Voigts.

I may be being a bit harsh but some dissapointing rides imo:
31 Alejandro Valverde (Spa) Caisse d'Epargne 0:00:29
50 Sylvain Chavanel (Fra) Quick Step 0:00:35
65 Tony Martin (Ger) Team HTC - Columbia 0:00:41
72 Christian Vande Velde (USA) Garmin - Transitions 0:00:42
92 Jurgen Van Den Broeck (Bel) Omega Pharma - Lotto 0:00:49

Expecting more from these guys...

How is Tondo's result abnormal?

..... speaking of Jensi, all of this talk of late head wind will be doing his head in as he will feel he should have won!

It's exceptionally good. As, to a lesser extent, are Sagan's and Boom's placings. All rode early. Might be explained by a heavier headwind.

If you knew Tondo's characteristics, you wouldn't be saying it's exceptionally good.

If he did this in a much longer TT, then you'd have a point.

Beaten David Millar much then, has he?

I'm not saying Tondo isn't a good rider or anything. If he's got good form he could finish pretty highly even. It's just that he beat a calibre of rider which is higher than he's ever (to my knowledge) beat before in a TT; same goes for Boom.

It COULD be explained by an increased headwind... Is all.

Tondo won last year's Ruta del Sol prologue (and yes, I actually knew that one ;))

Yes.... And who did he beat there?
Not David Millar, no. Look, it's understandable that you try to talk down his skills, and as such the skills of our fellow countryman Boom, lest you get over-excited about a Dutchie. But maybe Lars just did really well.

Oh, and Alexander Pechtold FTW.

Not overexcited, just realistic.

You reckon there should be a new sticky for each day?

I mean, if the Tour Down under and the Tour of Oman got that, I am sure P-N is deserving

It will at least make it easier to find the beginning of each stage's discussion.

Hey look, Giant have changed the stem on their TT bike.

I really don't understand how the aero headtube extension on this Giant is allowed and the Shiv is not. Can anyone explain this to me?

its not, they aren't using these, these headtubes don't appear on the 2010 shiv. it was two small gussets on the downtube to smooth the flow of air off the fork

May be in here somewhere, but don't feel inclined to wade thru 55 odd pages!

Did Haussler lose any time after he botched up his TT start? He was just waved straight thru without a countdown and looked like he was late. Ended up 31 secs down.
