Right, we all got through the Opening Ceremony as viewers - I thought it was mostly interesting and I hope the athletes who were taking part enjoyed it.

And now to the real competition!

I think the rugby is very entertaining but for a sport where you play only seven minutes per half, you absolutely have to stop the time when the ball is out of play.

Anyway, France's first medal is secured.

Huh? I thought the Olympic flame was usually kept in a flame-keeping-thingy (that's the technical term) at the Athletics stadium.
Not... under a giant baloon in the middle of a park.

Anyone know was posts to this thread, and to any of the threads in the Non-cycling Discussions subforum, don’t show up in New Posts? Yeah, I know it’s not cycling but neither is the moderator thread yet those will show up in the New Posts list (as will posts in the Clinic).

Nadalcaraz off to a decent start. Carlos is not used to doubles, though, and it shows.

Musetti is playing the final in Croatia right now and is scheduled to play his R1 in Paris at 4 PM tomorrow...

Not very helpful that the final was scheduled for so late in the evening.
