I'd say Flecha has been 2nd strongest - just that he spent 50km attacking or riding on the front to help Eddy, who then wasn't good enough.

Even after that he's made the final 5.

He's really impressive alright, didn't think he would do anything because he was sick last week. So he definitely proved me wrong. Boom can handle the distance, but it seems like Paris-Roubaix is the only Monument suited to him?

Flecha is indeed strong, considering he broke his hand right before Milan-San Remo and had no racing days prior to the Ronde.

I dunno, regardless of what happens I think boom has shown some good progress yet this year, in a some what distracted spring (baby, sickness etc) . I'm content.

Watch a replay - he attacked at 70km to go, then at 45km to go, and rode plenty of turns in the 30km chase attempt.
