Insane. van Baarle has always deserved something big, he got it today. Often times I wasn't sure that he would ever got his big break, being so consistent and versatile. And what a gap.
Mohoric is a war machine with bottomless reserve sometimes, he keeps coming back at you.

Well... if you look todays race, they were not the only ones with bad luck. Impact of Covid in WVA cannot really be estimated.

Nearly everyone had bad luck but some had worse than others. Like WVAs two mechanicals came on Arenberg and after the race had kicked off. It's not really the same as Van Baarles whos came when the two groups were merging together after the echelons and he really lost no time or had to chase hard. Same with Mohoric on his coming when he was leading and looking in a good spot and he got caught behind the crash that split the first echelon group and had to chase on with his team.

Mohoric indeed had puncture while leading the whole race by 45s? And had his very probable podium compatriot taken out by spectator less than 10km before finish. Without that WVA would've probably not even been in podium. But I'm pretty sure DVB would've won regardless. He was just so much stornger than anyone else.

Yes, lot of bad luck, but that did not in greater scheme of things impact who was the strongest and deserved winner.

Great race, shocking speeds..I hope that the old man goes home w a broken hand!!
And seeing the size and height of the racers on the podium, curious to see if the chart about skinny riders winning holds true..

I think it is very safe to say that covid cost Van Aert a few % points. Even if the disease itself didn't have an impact today (unknown to us), the 10 days of messed up training just prior to this race must have done something negative. Not saying he would have won otherwise, but looking at him today, it is clear why he is definitely a potential future winner.

My man Turner crashes for the first time this season, trying to chase MVDP and loses a top ten spot. Has done so well riding for others this year. Next spring, they have to let him ride for himself a lot more.
Ben Turner just one spot off the Roubaix/Brabantse Pijl top-10 double in the end, would have been quite a rare achievement but still an incredible result for a debutant.
Yeah I was rooting for a top-10, but too bad, very nice debut season.

...and now, the stark realization that it will be another year before we get to watch Roubaix again...
It's an opportunity of a lifetime. 360 days to get Rob Hatch out of the studio. My jaws still cramping like hell from the intensity to resist to ruin my apt after listening that overenthusiastic overarticulating piece of @#€&.

I mean it. Man I love this silence right now.

WVA is just not good enough for roubaix or flandres. He is always the favourite but there is always a guy who can be stronger than him.
I think today he had a very good excuse no? making conclusions after today is unfair to a guy who was borderline ready to race today because he was still recuperating.

Yes, but at the same time I doubt that Wout would have showed up if he wasn't strong enough to be the team leader.
