If it wasn't for Vermeersch's move with Politt and Küng, this race would have been a complete procession from end to end.
It's like an old Sky mountain stage, Alpecin just set such a high pace that absolutely no attack was practical. Helps when you have the best rider and the best team in the race.

Really impressive. Probably Cancellara is sitting at home and thinking, why did I have to take all this *** after my 2010 performance....
To avoid misunderstandings, I don't suspect McdP of anything.

The tub of other hopes for alternative outcomes completely emptied and draining by now

Now time to just sit back and enjoy the master unfold his extreme talent.

After digesting the dismal state of affairs, now positive feelings roll over me fond memories of Tchmil, Tafi, Cancellara and Boonen editions.

It certainly hasn’t helped with all the early drama decimating the race before we barely hit the cobbles. Nor has the loss of Wout, Stuyven in previous weeks. But even so, this is ridiculously dominant.

I really enjoyed watching yesterday's race. This one is just stupid, at least a race for first place.

By the way, I totally get team tactics, but I so hope somebody elbows the AD riders out of the way and they don't take podium spots.
