The only thing I see that didn't happen, is that we didn't see a 60kmh crash, where someone broke their face...I'm okay with that...but I'm politically correct like that.

I'm left wondering whether people were watching prior editions thinking "oh, if only there was a chicane right before the trench, it would be so much better!".

Or were they simply enjoying the spectacle?

It's a valid question.

The chicane has added so much to the race that I believe every prior winner should have their wins asterisked, as they did not race through a chicane.

Portuguese commentators are saying a "fan" threw an hat on purpose to MVP at 42.2 km to the finish line. Is this true? I didn't see it.
Yep I posted it here. Thought it was a flag but a woman was throwing a hat. We had some closeup replays on Sporza. Just missed Mathieu’s backwheel.

I'm left wondering if we were all fish, whether the underwater sector would be as dangerous...

Woke up at 230 in the morning to see the race hoping for a surprise, something exciting, that didn't happen. MvdP simply outclassed everyone and w one other teammate, Pederson absolutely shutdown anyone chasing .
Have been coming in and out of being asleep and I have not missed anything
