Pogacar was doing all the work. Van Art was only wheelsucking and whenever he was in Front the gap imidiately started going down.
He had a guy in the group behind. Sure, playing the Christophe Laporte card there when van der Poel was there too is a bit silly, but it was up to Pogačar to call his bluff and see just how serious he was about playing that card. Which he never did, so Wout continued to play it. That's on Tadej.

Today there's no criticism that the slowest and most coocked cyclist took turns at the frot :tearsofjoy: .Sometimes we should try to be a little more objective.

It's been a bit sad to see so much complaining in this thread. It was clear that Pogacar was more coocked and that Van Aert was faster.
And it's almost a certainty none of these 20-30 people do any self-reflecting about their conduct here but just continue to spout the same boring stuff.

Well but the Laporte card, as you say, was indeed silly - I don’t think it mattered. Laporte was not going to win the sprint from the group, the chance to win for the team was always way higher with WvA from a 2 man group.

But Pogacar did too much indeed. I just think its independent of Laporte.

Laporte is slower than Pedersen and VDP.

I think people have been blinded by the hate for Pogacar today. Van Aert was a strong favorite because the Pogacar seemed completely coocked and Van Aert is faster.

I understand that people have their favorites, but I'd recommend rereading the thread now that read is finish; it's been five hours of complainning as if Van Aert were a rider for a minor team.
