Yes, though since he's benefitted from others' bad luck in the past here I don't think he will be too fussed. He doesn't take losses particularly badlyMVP has a disaster season until today. However, he would probably win this race.

Well but the Laporte card, as you say, was indeed silly - I don’t think it mattered. Laporte was not going to win the sprint from the group, the chance to win for the team was always way higher with WvA from a 2 man group. He had a guy in the group behind. Sure, playing the Christophe Laporte card there when van der Poel was there too is a bit silly, but it was up to Pogačar to call his bluff and see just how serious he was about playing that card. Which he never did, so Wout continued to play it. That's on Tadej.
Class act Wout.Wout dedicated his win to Goelarts, who passed away during the 2018 edition.
Laporte is slower than Pedersen and VDP.He had a guy in the group behind. Still, it was a genuine act on his part, and I was happy to see it.It probably does help that MvdP has won this race three times in a row
Exactly as he should have done. Sandbag a bit, make Pog work, beat him in the sprint. MasterclassPogacar was doing all the work. Van Art was only wheelsucking and whenever he was in Front the gap imidiately started going down.
New to watching Paris Roubaix, I see. You'll learn more about it, as you grow up...if you grow up.Wout van Asterix is so lucky Pogacar had that slip early in Carefour de l Arbre. Decided the race.
he did it
no mistakes , calm for once
Pogacar kept trying to drop Wout in the cobbles, so Wout had less reason to work fully. He had to save his energy, because that's Pogacar attacking.Well but the Laporte card, as you say, was indeed silly - I don’t think it mattered. But Pogacar did too much indeed. I just think its independent of Laporte.
Interesting you single out that poster going one way instead of the 30 posters going the other way for the last 5 hours. Something to consider...if you grow up.New to watching Paris Roubaix, I see. You'll learn more about it, as you grow up...if you grow up.
It’s was so nice to see and typical of Mathieu. The respect he and Wout have for each other is immense.I posted earlier, but such class by Mathieu to congratulate Wout. I believe he was the first rider there to congratulate him.
Yes, mr Cosmic Entity, can i now order one glass of "Netherlands winning World Cup" please?Wout never winning a cobbles monument would have felt like a cosmic injustice so I'm very glad this happened
It was a great day. Thanks for checking in.Interesting you single out that poster going one way instead of the 30 posters going the other way for the last 5 hours. Something to consider...if you grow up.
Bad team planning. Different pedals from his teammate? Why?Pretty impressive win from Wout - if you'd have told me before the race it was going to him vs Pog in the velodrome after the fastest race in history I'd say it was going to be pretty close in the sprint but it was man vs boy. He'd have given MvDP a race too on that evidence.
Van der Poel didn't handle the punctures well and that might just have been the difference between him contesting the finish or not.
