The prize money fiasco is just embarrassing. For god's sake, surely the organizers or a sponsor could find 10,000 euros, at least.

Good race for the first edition. I liked the fact that there wasn't 3 hours of freewheeling before hostilities started. Next year I hope there will be much more money; I'd love also to see some of the US gravel specialists make the trip; not sure how that would happen without a trade team but surely the UCI in their new gravel love mode could find a way...

I'm right on the Sussex coast of England. As the crow flies, not a million miles from the race. We often get very similar weather to just over the channel.
Since dinner time it's been blowing a gale and tipping it down. If any of this reaches the race before tomorrow, it'll be a very wet Roubaix indeed!

Seems quite fitting watching this first ever women's edition with these conditions going on outside!

Proper interview now.

Lizzie said she was the 3rd rider for Trek today and she just went to the front on the 1st cobble section to keep the pace up and protect herself and teammates.

Perhaps only because it was the first edition and we didnt really know how it was gonna go for the women or what it would be like. Things like that might put sponsors at unease to put their name/brand attached to it. They wanna see first. So maybe more in future editions hopefully.

Now they have something to show the sponsors and as cycling for women continues to grow. As more races gets broadcasted and so on, even if it wasnt the whole race this time. Maybe the next will be.

Dont know what prize money is for the women in general? But I assume it can only improve which it will I hope.

Lmaoooo

Chantal Blaak finishes her interview with "I hope it's dry next year"

Then they cut back to the commentators who just go "We don't"

And then cutting away from the victory ceremony to show the races the Dutch riders did manage to win

Hilarious watching Lizzy try to lift that big ass cobblestone above her head!
