I really wish we could have seen how Lizzy got away. Did she go solo or was she in a group that she dropped? I'd also be interested to know how the other big names fared even if they aren't particularly suited to the course and conditions.

I wonder if there are any injuries for those riders that went down. Some of those crashes looked brutal. Hope all are ok.

I think she surged on the first section of cobbles, and that was it.

They paved the sides on that section. In the past that used to be pretty rough. Therefore the barriers on the sides. Those look quite dangerous if a large group went in there (not likely).

According to the GPS, the distance is dropping quickly!

Seems like the time is frozen on the TV image.

Edit: it's probably due to Belgian commentators confusing distance to next cobbles vs distance between riders.
Where rae you seeing that information?
