Wasn't there a UCI-rule that a rider on a Conti-team could sign with a WT/PCT-team regardless if they had/have a contract?

He definitely wouldn't be the first conti-rider to break contract to signed with a WT/PT team.
Also, apparently, he's not even a conti-rider!

I have no idea what "NCL" means.

National Cycling League, basically the equivalent of the Nations Cup, but then in America.

NCL is series of crit styled races where each team has a men and women's squad who compete for points in the races. Sergio Henao is also racing for Denver, and so is Leah Kirchmann.

Bigger result than 90% of their actual roster has managed all season. How very Israel.

Pretty cool to see a trainee and a guy from the early break go 1 and 2, but it's also reflective of how far this race has fallen...

Back in World Cup days Virenque/Durand/Dekker all won from the early break (in the space of 4 editions). And I thought it was great.

Could have been been some other riders from the early break winning in the late 90's , but I honestly don't remember much from those editions.

Edit: Piil, not Durand, you numpty

Sheehan winning a race like Paris-Tours is almost as surprising as Soupe winning a Vuelta stage. I didn't know him but well done!
I knew him... from group rides lol. He was obviously better than your average local amateur but I did not see this coming. He even went to college which is not a thing you normally do if you think you're going to the protour.

Chapeau Riley! Would be the biggest classics win for an American in a looong time if Powless hadn't bagged that San Sebastian.

Edit: I suppose we yanks also have a recent fleche brabanconne

Known him since he was born. Couldn't be happier for him. He only went to college for one year before quitting to pursue a cycling career. Always thought maybe his dad would get him a spot on Human Powered Health or something similar. I think his future is a bit brighter after today.
