The breakaway got it! Chapeau Sheehan! With so many sprinters in the peloton, it was indeed a surprise. Mind you, going from the size of the peloton at the finish, I think a few guys were up late celebrating Teddy's win yesterday.

Wasn't there a UCI-rule that a rider on a Conti-team could sign with a WT/PCT-team regardless if they had/have a contract?

Since Denver Disruptors are only competing in the NCL team crit series, it might not even be a problem for Sheehan to ride them if he's signed by IPT. I doubt he'd want to though.

NCL is series of crit styled races where each team has a men and women's squad who compete for points in the races. Sergio Henao is also racing for Denver, and so is Leah Kirchmann.

Back in World Cup days Virenque/Durand/Dekker all won from the early break (in the space of 4 editions). And I thought it was great.
Could have been been some other riders from the early break winning in the late 90's , but I honestly don't remember much from those editions.

I knew him... from group rides lol. He was obviously better than your average local amateur but I did not see this coming. He even went to college which is not a thing you normally do if you think you're going to the protour.
Chapeau Riley! Would be the biggest classics win for an American in a looong time if Powless hadn't bagged that San Sebastian.

Known him since he was born. Couldn't be happier for him. He only went to college for one year before quitting to pursue a cycling career. Always thought maybe his dad would get him a spot on Human Powered Health or something similar. I think his future is a bit brighter after today.

Didn't realise that was Johannessen's first gravel race. He seems to be developing into quite a versatile rider. Really looking forward to following him next season now his knee issues seem to be resolved?
