Just watched the replay, lovely race from a viewer’s perspective: changing dynamics during the last 30km and nice to see a strong breakaway group stay clear to sprint for the win, with a surprise winner!. Admittedly the “peloton” was really reduced and lacked the usual power you would see in the final 10km of a race like this. At one point a Uno-X rider went to the front of the chasing peloton and they just let him “pull” for a bit, though of course he would just be slowing things down for his teammate in the break.

Nice send-off to close out the Euro road season (it least for races to watch).

Stærke: He (Sheehan) is gonna ride for a team from Denver next year. Question is; is he gonna do that now?
Stærke is so clueless. He probably didn't even realise just how unknown those two riders in the group were (Sheehan and Delbove). And pronouncing Askey as Ask-Eye?

Didn't realise that was Johannessen's first gravel race. He seems to be developing into quite a versatile rider. Really looking forward to following him next season now his knee issues seem to be resolved?
During his youth and junior years he was basically only racing MTB and just a bit of road and CX (really small in Norway, so not a lot of races) so I guess he has pretty good technical base and is a versatile rider. I wouldn’t be surprised if he rides a very good RVV within 3 years time.

He definitely wouldn't be the first conti-rider to break contract to signed with a WT/PT team.
Also, apparently, he's not even a conti-rider!

I have no idea what "NCL" means.
Wouldn't even be the first one to do that this season, since Gorka Sorarrain jumped from BAI-Sicasal to Caja Rural on August 1st.

That said, I think I'm swiftly going to have to stop the gag of mistaking him for his ice hockey namesake if he's going to keep stepping up like this.
