Crikey - that’s some hyperbole. Who knows who will be coming through in 3 or 4 years who are not already on the radar. Sexias looks the strong bet to be the next dominant and pre eminent stage racer and hilly classics rider of his generation (when he takes the mantle from Pog or Vigne who knows) but development is not linear and not sure how you can extrapolate he will be the dominant force in RVV in 5 years from his performance here.
The way he rides on descents, his performance in Kigali and specially the downfall of this current generation. MVP is an all time great, riders like him don't born every year/generation.
In 2 years, Seixas will be a top contender in Ronde.

Last year Brennan was looking amazing in Roubaix, and so far this spring Hagenes has been very impressive. Segaert is looking promising as well. Someone will always step up.
They are nowhere near the level of Wout, let alone Pogacar and MVP. But it's just a prediction, I can be wrong and it's also fair to see people disagreeing with me. Seixas never showed anything in RVV (despite his good performance in Kigali).

What is even more ridiculous is Pogacar still has aliens like MVP, Remco and Vingegaard in his generation. In 3-4 years, who is gonna beat Seixas in RVV? Remco can’t ride cobbles, MVP, Pedersen, Wout will be gone, Pogacar will eventually regress. We don't have cobbles specialists anymore! Seixas will be the new Merckx, mark my words!
It's funny that we have already forgotten about three discipline guy who came third at Paris-Tours last season, 2nd in Tre Valle Varesine, and beat Carapaz up San Luca, all at 19.

Maybe give them some time... Brennan is 20 years old. Crazy to already write him off. He got ill this season

There is also the fact that with juniors training like pros, and pros being so young, the standard age progression is very hard to predict. Seixas has taken two massive steps from 2024 to 2025, and then again into 2026, but it's hard to know at what point the steps get smaller or stop. Of course, he might do another in 2027, or he this might be very close to the best he gets – who knows.

Or, it might be like Pogacar where the biggest jumps come a few years apart (at least in Tadej's career, 2021 and 2022 were very similar, and 2023 was impacted by wrist injury but the huge step up was 2024).

The monuments courses , specially RVV, Liege and Lombardia need to be made much easier, so that a lot of riders are in contention. Otherwise we'll have the same riders dominating the monuments time and again.

And where was Wout on the road when he was 22?

We still have cobbles specialists as we still have pure climbers. They're just beaten at their speciality by the aliens.

Cobbled specialists take time to develop. There are a number of promising riders born in 2006 and 2007 such as Withen Philipsen, Hector Alvarez, Michiel Mouris (u 18 ITT Worlds Champ and PR Junior winner), Ashlin Barry ) who look like could be very good on Cobbles. Wihten Philipsen is a very good climber too and can do well in the hilly classcis as well.

You cannot judge the 2005,2006,2007 born riders right now. judge them in another 4-5 years.

I think people need to just calm down. He appears to be an incredible talent but he hasn't done anything yet. In a GT he cannot have a bad day for three weeks. That's a lot of racing. Lots of bad things can happen. Crashes he has to get off the deck and get back in the race.
Let's give him a chance to mature just a little more.

When is the last time a great young rider did great in shorter stage races and then collapsed in his first GT?

I remember when people were talking about Pogacar and Ayuso leaving the Vuelta after 2 weeks becuase it would be too much for a youngster.

This Itzulia alone will be enough to anoint Seixas the 3rd best GT rider.

Of course we have to wait and see, but honestly his engine is clearly so big that it would be remarkable if he didn't have the longue durée capacity to handle three weeks.
