stafke i am under the impression that the funds to lodge their application with the UCI cam from within the family (perhaps Virgin or Scott) but the European sponsor that they have lined up to sign if they are given a PC licence is not from within the family but a new company coming on board.

I've a rumour that a large (bigger than 2XU) Australian cycling garment manufacturer and wholesaler has became involved and an Italian bicycle manufacturer is actually stepping in instead of Scott.

Of course the person who fed me this clouded everything with a thick layer of plausible denials and unconfirmed rumourings.... but I may be the one person here not surprised if Scott aren't involved.

I think I heard Skins are expanding their cycling clothing involvement do they fit the bill?? Also Fly V rode on De Rosa bikes last year so I suppose that could be it. Pure Speculation...

Is it confirmed that Scott will stop sponsoring Pegasus?

No but a couple of sources have speculated that they have whilst others have speculated that they have bumped up their sponsorship

Surely Scott have come up with sponsorship. They only have Pegasus on board for bikes dont they?

Just watched the interveiw with Chris White on SBS Cycling Central .... what an unconvicning display !! If White is to be the public face of Pegasus then I fear for their ability to attract new sponsors - bland statements around mateship etc just did not sound genuine. He really should take some lessons in media relations to better promote his casue.

Funny you should say that MtCootha. I also watched the interview at the local pub. I was the only cyclist amongst our group and everyone said " No way in hell I'd give money to someone that came across like that."

C. White came across as a very shifty and shady character in my and others opinion. :(

Good luck beating people like Androni and Farnese Vini with the roster they've got. Cofidis too - all of those have a very strong national calendar of .HC, .1 and .2 races to pick up points in plus will go to most of the races organised by ASO (Cofidis) and RCS (Androni/Farnese Vini) anyway. Pegasus will get to do some bigger races but I don't see where they're going to get the big points from, unless Rohregger can win his home Tour or McEwen rolls back the years in a few sprints.

Totallly agree - there was something odd about the way he came across. Maybe he was just tired after a big week trying to sort out the funding gap but he seemed evasive in his response to some of the questioning - especailly when asked about if no other sponsor comes on board could the team still continue - he ended up saying yes but this seems contradictory to his comments earlier in the week that they need more supprt to run the team.

I also thought his response to the question about the relationshiop with the Cycling Australia was a bit strange - I din't get the sense that all is well on that front.

To be honest, the way CW comes accross i wouldnt be surprised if these guys turned up to be the new european sponsor.

The non-brits will have no idea what im talking about. But he does sound more and more like a double-glazing salesman whos promises the earth, the windows end up being put in five weeks late, the conservatory doors dont shut properly, and the bathroom window doesnt open.

From memory I believe he said no name sponsor - so presumably similar to Highroad original jersey before they got Columbia on board. Also believe he said he expected Pegasus to be viewed as the No.1 ProConti team like Cervelo - I'm a big Robbie fan, but not sure the Pegasus lineup compares favourably to Sastre, Hushovd, Hausler, Gerrans et al. Also put a shout-out to Cycling Aust for admin help/lobbying when dealing with UCI.

Further evidence of the way Chris White operates:

http://www.sbs.com.au/cyclingcentral/news/19172/Belgian-lifeline-for-Kemp#comment

The Melbourne-based cyclist said he was set to stay on with the team after striking a “verbal contract” with managing director Chris White in August.

Kemp didn’t receive paperwork to confirm the verbal contract but believed the deal was done.

“Basically in cycling that’s a contract,’’ a disconcerted Kemp said.

“If you say yep, it’s all done off word. I was given their word that they wanted me so I told my mangers that I didn’t need (a) team, they were happy I was going to continue on so then I stopped looking.”

Kemp said the verbal contract was not formally revoked but started searching for another employer when he was told by team management in October his results were inconsistent.

“I haven’t got any results because I’ve been riding for our sprinters, who won 90 per cent of the races that I worked for,” he said.

“I actually haven’t spoken to Chris White in regards to this. I try calling him every other day and he doesn’t take the calls so I’m making the assumption that there’s no longer a contract on the table.”

Not really acceptable behaviour Mr White ....

From reading this thread David Kemp's situation is one of many Chris White has gotten himself into.
I read this thread after seeing the SBS interview and I must say he'd make an awesome used car salesman or politician. Slime and sleaze.

Makes me wonder if this venture would have better support and sponsorship if this guy was not in charge and the public face.
I realize it takes someone's vision to make these things a reality but surely you need a decent people skills to put this vision into a reality.
If this is the start than just how long can it go on for?

Same thing happened to Pat Shaw who gave White's feeder team a Scody Cup and National Road Series victory. But I believe there was no word at all. Nothing.
