Wonder what chris white will say?

We are still confident of being invited to the tour de france as a continental team, we have race invites to most of northern classics, the tour of lankawi and the beaumont trophy, riders want to come to ride for us, and the americans will never make it into Baghdad. Even as I speak their forces are being destroyed by our army.

They can still race a few good races, but it'll be really scraping a calendar together. Maybe Rohregger can have a go at the Volta. He's about the guy I feel most sorry for, since he's a pretty talented rider who's stagnated at a team which has seen itself as nothing but a placeholder for the last two years. I feel bad for Knees too, and the guys who've been stepping up a level, but at least those guys (Knees excepted, but as the German national champion I'd expect a place for him to be available at NetApp or somewhere like that) won't have LOST anything by riding a Continental calendar.

Bobbie Traksel must feel like the biggest idiot. His old team gets ProTeam status and his new one folds. Hopefully he'll find a decent new team!

I wonder how long it will take for their bikes to turn up on e-bay. That would be a really nice collector's item!

Looking at TeamSkyFans list of vacancies and your comment gave me a hilarious mental image of big Svein Tuft in orange with all the little Basque climbers tucked in behind him.:D

Are you sure abt these numbers. I think there is an underestimation. These numbers are based on the applications sent by the teams along with contracts to the UCI so i think there will be even less room for these guys in a ProTeam. So i think most of them will land in a Proconti or even Conti level team.

Well yes, thats the information from the uci submissions, so im expecting a lot less vacancies than that, for instance on moviestar, vacon, but the rest wont be too far off. There are some teams that UCI has not published rosters for as well.

I hope the UCI doesn't stuff around and doesn't over complicate riders going to new teams. They should be trying to make it as easy as possible.

Firstly, I feel for the riders. I hope most of them get a contract somewhere.

Now that that’s out of the way I’m actually glad that two bit con man didn’t get the license. That team would have been a p1ss poor representation of an Australian team and quite frankly it would have only been a matter of time before it folded anyway. Better the pain now for the riders who are blameless in all this, than in two months time.

I don’t think it will be too long before a ‘proper’ Australian team will get off the ground, and it will have a consortium of backers behind it rather than one lone shyster trying to string a shady deal together.

I've got good intel that Tuft is already resigned with a new team. It might come as a shocker. Expect news soon.

I hope other riders are able to move and find spots... but it will be very tough for some.
