Hell Bernie Eisel tweeted a photo of Pete and Brailsford having a meeting before he joined Tinkoff. It makes sense if you think about it Sky don't have an elite cobbles leader and Stannard, Rowe, Puccio and Moscon would be fantastic support.
Im hoping Sagan is thinking TdF as well, Tinkoff's support last year was embarrassing and he will probably receive the same at Sky. I think Trek is perfect where he can be the undisputed leader in ALL races, he deserves that. Then Mochema can have 2 mountain goats and get his top-10 peacefully
A little bit more respect for Bauke, he took Zubeldia's place and broke the ghostrider curse, now Haimar is once again able to attack, he even was in a few breakaways durning the Vuelta.
I'd love to see Sagan as a Hotstepper, there's the Specialized connection, they don't want to loose him, and the Hotsteppers need a new star for the cobbled classic.
Of course that would mean no more fighting for the green jersey, but he could still go stagehunting in the Tour, let's face it, people don't care about the green jersey.

I didn't mean to be disrespectful of him. Ok, maybe a bit. But he obviously deserves a lot more respect after his Zubeldia-esque performances in 2014 and 2015, thats on me! :D

He will still be able to stagehunt at QSS, but I hope he really consider it, they have 2 of the fastest and talented sprinter in the world already. I would be sad to see Sagan leading those out and occasionally stagehunt or win an uphill sprint, he deserves a completely devoted team and this point, I think he can live with a little less support in the Classics

I can't imagine Sagan cares about it, but I'd be disappointed if Sagan stopped focussing on the MV without at least trying for Zabel's record.

How is Peter going to manage his own ambitions with Kittel, Gaviria, Stybar, Terpstra, Vanderbergh in the same team?
None but Kittel are even fit to clean Sagan's boots. Gaviria might one day become better, but Stybar, Terpstra and Vanderbergh are naught but glorified support riders.

Quite easy. They will have to work for him ;)

As has been extensively discussed in this thread and was pretty conclusively shown last Sunday, Sagan's much better suited to RVV than PR, which is the opposite of Terpstra and Stybar, who are P-R specialists and haven't shown that much in the Ronde and so on, at least this season. That's not to say Sagan can't win it in the future (he certainly could), but it would take a lot of effort on his part to go for such a radically different race successfully. I think QS could give Sagan leadership with committed domestique work from Terpstra and Stybar in the classics up to Roubaix and then using him like Boonen in 2014 there. The main conflict would be with Gaviria, who wants to win Roubaix one day and who is very much a MSR rider, which is a race I imagine Sagan will be aiming for. I don't see that much issue with Kittel though, given Sagan seems to have moved his focus away from bunch sprints now. I even think he could go for the green jersey, just by getting in the top 5 in the sprints, winning the ones that Kittel's getting dropped on, and going for intermediate points - after all, he hardly had a team last year and still won it.

I don't want to see Sagan as the last man in a top tuned Etixx or Sky train. Let him join Lampre. That will force him to race more aggressively and do more long range attacks like in Flanders. It's how you win that really matters for riders like Sagan.

Trek seems a good fit with Cancellara hanging it up, and a Sagan/Stuyven combo could really blow the classics races apart. But I wonder if Stuyven would want to play second fiddle to Sagan.

Sagan is always struggling for support, because his own wage is too high to support any decent support. If Etixx were to really get Sagan, they'd have to let go of other high paid riders like Stybar and Terpstra. And probably drop some of the lesser domestiques also.

In other words, if Sagan wants a decent team around him, he should ask for only a million or two, tops

Well....if I were Sagan...so what? Not my problem...I want to get paid $$$$$. They will figure something out for particular races. Kittel, flat out sprinter last 200M. He can't climb or TT worth beans. Other riders listed, some are all arounders, some specific for certain races. Sagan is a really good all around rider. He won't win a grand tour ever, but he can win anything else, and already has most smaller stage races with some climbing.

KitKatowski would do well to leave if Sagan comes to Sky.

Did Kittel sign a 1 or 2 year contract with Etixx?

Time will tell, but doubt Specialized wants to let him go, esp. for Trek. We'll see

What?

Not sure if he means stage wins or actual stage race GC wins. In the case of the latter he's wrong, he's only won Cali, Pologne and another Italian stage race which names eludes me at the moment.

Giro di Sardegna

Giovanni Lombardi reportedly ask 6 mil. for sagan for new contract. That's quite a lot, even though Luca Guercilena said, that he's definately worth the money, the only problem with such a big salary is, that it's nearly impossible to pay some other worthy riders in the team(e.g. trek's budget is currently 14 mil), so the main sponzors should raise the money to go only for sagan's salary. Maybe he want's to press trek to raise the budget for him?
With the idea of sponzors donating only to sagan specifically, I am curious, if sagan could bring his own personal sponsors, that would be shown only on his shirts, tights, helmet ... . I guess if team designers can make national jerseys, they could make some kits with personal sponsors too. And as Sagan is pretty much guaranteed the slovak national jersey for some time(unless he skips some edition), they would have to make the kit for him anyway.

trek has revenue over 1 billion dollars (and thats just reported, god knows how much they make avoiding taxes :D ),they could easily afford to increase the budget if they wanted but as any good business they try to pay as little as possible

the point is if they have enough to get sagan from Specialized they have enough to pay few domestiques as well
