Probably not but he's still Slovakia's best chance of winning.Fernandez said:"Sagan to recon Rio Olympics course after Tour de San Luis" ... I dont think he has nothing to do in such a hard parcours.

Perhaps if you live in Spain because I just dont see any kind of publicity involving Purito anywhere else.
BTW what is funny about Purito if no "physical comedy, slapstick or stunts that can be put on YouTube" ?

Actually, to me that photoshopped pic did not seem funny at all - there is a rider crashing hard and ruining his season goals and someone thinks it is the right time to make fun out of it? That does not seem very tactful and I certainly have a different idea of how fine sense of humour should look like.Angliru said:Obviously if you haven't bared witness to it yourself it can't possibly have happened or be true.Curiously one of the most prominent and well known Purito classics is his photo shop of the Sagan derriere pinch with a Tom Boonen crash photo. That is just one of many examples of Puritio fine sense of humour.
Edit: Additionally it would seem that Pro Cycling mag and Cycling News would agree. They reference Purito's "quick and wry wit" in describing a featured article on him in the January issue of Pro Cycling magazine.

To me, I see a guy who is insanely talented, loves to ride his bike, animates races, does his best to win many races, wins some races, is respected by his peers, and yet still doesn't take himself too seriously.Pricey_sky said:Just reeks of: 'look at me! you haven't watched me for a couple of months, look at me! This isn't Cipollini-style self-promotion. Sagan is a man more confident in himself than a Cav or Cippo. He doesn't need the unnecessary bravado. He's comfortable putting himself in a situation (in this case, the Grease video) where he can appear both foolish and carefree. This also isn't Chris Froome appearing in a ridiculous sumo outfit. Sagan still maintains his own brand of cool and style even in the midst of parody.
Someone like Cippo made a fool of himself unintentionally. He thought he was being bold and brash with some of his outlandish outfits, but really he was humiliating himself. Sagan, in this video, makes no attempt at taking himself seriously. That's the difference. Most pro athletes could stand to learn a thing or two from Peter Sagan.
And before anyone jumps on my "bravado" comment. Yes Sagan has it. Tons of it. Like when he crossed the line after winning the World Championships. That's where it belongs. Swearing at reporters or mouthing off to your competitors is how some others channel their insecurities. Sagan, however, makes his loudest statements while riding his bike.

It's the perfect bike for him. Flashy and show-offish.
I actually really like it to be honest.![]()

Certainly is perfect!
Way too over the top for me.
Agree concerning P. Velits. Sagan will probably regard the Worlds in Quatar as more suited for him, especially if desert wind blows. Rio has too much cummulative altitude difference, the medals will go to people like Valverde, Nibali, Purito - excellent climbers with classics experience.tomorrow said:Hugo Koblet said:Probably not but he's still Slovakia's best chance of winning.Fernandez said:"Sagan to recon Rio Olympics course after Tour de San Luis" ... well, maybe no exactly of winning, but definitely, the best chance for a worthy representing the country. However, with Sagan you never now, in Florence it was very bumpy too, and Sagan has been making the guys like Purito, Nibali, etc. nearly to the very end of the race, which imho also animated the race, without him being there, they might have not show such a devastating attachk.
All the other slovak riders would probably have serious trouble even finishing the race. Only maybe Peter Velits could be in consideration, if he got into at least 80-90% of his 2011 year, which is probably not going to happen.
I doubt the gang at the Specialized even collaborated with Sagan on his bike design.
They made it and said: "Look, this is your new bike and if your don't like it, go f... yourself"![]()

Funny, but not really true...I've had the opportunity to design many of his bikes starting from his Cannondale days and now at Specialized. I know his taste pretty well at this point...

Jancouver said:Perhaps you showed him the design before the bike was made. Well, I would believe Cannondale would take some input from Sagan, but we all know how Mike Sinyard and his crew operates ... oops, I hope I won't get sued by Specialized for writing my opinion on the internet.

Finally, the last thing I’ll say to the people who don’t believe in Peter Sagan, the cynics and the sceptics: I'm sorry for you. I’m sorry that you can’t dream big. I'm sorry you don't believe in miracles. But this is one hell of a bike racer. This is a great rider and you should stand around and believe him. You should believe in this athletes, and you should believe in his skill. I'll be a fan of the Peter Sagan for as long as I live. And there are no secrets — this is a hard sporting event and hard work wins it. So Vive le Peter Sagan!
