Bora squad for Strade Bianche : Peter, McCarthy, Burghardt, Bodnar, Poljanski, Benedetti, Mühlberger, Pfingsten.
Let's just hope they will not be dropped like flies.

I've just noticed that there's Peter's logo on the back of the jersey. Is that unique ?

Does somebody know what's with his brother? Last year he was consistently last to stay with peter. Is he riding somewhere else?

Q: "Peter Sagan. Ah, the sprint, the moment when you aah, went wide in dat curve.' Was that the moment you lost today?"

A: ".......mmn.no.....................? ...*....  ......"

Legend!

Q: "Did you lose because of your health issue?"
A: "What health issue?"

Juraj this year. In January Trofeo Mallorca 110th, Trofeo Palma 88th. February Abu Dhabi 35th. A definite upward trajectory. Next race as said Paris- Nice, they don't race together until M-SR.
Kolar has faced every race so far with Peter with year but won't do Strade Bianche but returns to team for Paris -Nice.

When they annouced his retirement due illnes, i first thought he caught a cold yesterday when he wasn't wearing enough clothes at the race presentation. In fact, he wasn't feeling well since 3 4 days.
He started the race but unfortunately the pace was too strong for him and the crash didn't help either. That's what real fighters do.
He is right when he always say that the first goal is to stay healthy and not crash. Get well and come back soon Peter.

I don't know why Peter prefers Tirreno rather than Paris Nice ? 4 of the last 5 MSR winners came from La Course au Soleil and he would have more time to rest.

Strade Bianche
True. I forgot that.

Interesting observation from Sam Bennett in one of his post win interviews today. Bennett has essentially spent his career as the main fast man on a small (An Post) and then medium size team and has never been on a team with a bigger leader. He said that within a few weeks he'd already learnt from Peter that he'd been putting too much pressure and stress on himself, while Sagan never lets anything stress him out. Even with a km to go in a chaotic sprint stage, he seems as relaxed as ever.

(In a previous interview he noted that you can feel a bit silly helping Sagan out, moving him up in the bunch or something. He will let you do it, but you always have a vague suspicion that he's letting you do it to keep you happy and he'd actually be faster without your "help")

Nice! Sagan is such a unique rider. I don't think it's a good idea for most other riders not to put pressure and stress themselves though.

Sam Bennett after stage 1 of TDU :

“I ended up sprinting as well (with Ewan) and it was so stressful,’’ Bennett said.
“It was a compliment (from Sagan) because he trusted me.
“I didn’t expect that, I expected to lead him out.
“I had to come to terms with it.
“He came to me and asked how I was I said, ’yeah I’m good but the tactic was to lead you out so let’s stick to the plan’.”
“He said, “No, no I’m road captain tell me how are you?”
“I said, ‘I’m good,’ (and) he said ‘OK I’ll sprint for you’.
“I said, ‘Let’s see after the climbs’ and I said ‘I’m not feeling good.’
“He said ‘everyone is feeling bad’.” :)

Question is, whether the same will work for Bennett (cycling regarding). Same way doesn't work for everyone.
And - there is no causal relation between "size" of the leader and that.[/quote]

Hope Sagan goes all out for Roubaix this year. Would be great seeing him win on a Tarmac!
