Phil genuinely thought there was a member of the public / imposter riding at the back of the peloton riding in a black jersey with red shorts, bless him (it was Purito in a rain jacket)

Lololololol, wtf is he on?!

P.s. first mention of 'professional bike riders' just now if anyones playing Sherwin bingo!

dunno what peoples problem is with phil , i think it just goes back to the armstrong scenario which ok his opinions were wrong but then so were many of the peoples on this forum , i will hold my hands up , i was . anyway enough of that or i will get told off .

i think hes an absolutely awesome commentator for the sport of cycling especially when the action heats up , ok he may have a couple of blips now and then but i would imagine its not the easiest job in the world identifying riders at times especially when you get a camera angle shot on the back of a peleton or in a sprint finish when they are coming off riders wheels .

give the guy a break !!

If it was just the occasional slip up it would be fine. But Phil again and again makes constant mistakes. Even that can be forgiven to a degree though, it still makes him not a very good commentator, but it can be forgiven. What can't be forgiven, is his constant support of Armstrong from back in the day.

To not get to clinicy, his constant support of Armstrong, slander of those that cast doubts on him, and keeping of omerta, makes it impossible for me to like him in any way.

Big mistakes again today by the dynamic duo. At one point, when Froome attacked on Jenkin Road, Paul said "Alberto cannot match Chris' acceleration," all the while Alberto and Vincenzo are sitting on his wheel.

Seems as though whatever is going on in Paul & Phil's mind does not match reality, and that is just bad commentating. Really bad.

This

They intentionally mislead fans for over a decade. Inexcusable.

They alway comment the race the way they want it to be instead of what it is.

It is impossible to take Phil and Paul seriously. I appreciated Christian Vandevelde commentating.

lol, Phil dramatically announces that Nibali, the Spanish champion, won. Then he caught the mistake, but lol...these guys sound like they drank too much wine during the race.

Did Sherewen really say it was a psychological blow for Froome to cross Jenkins road first (when Contador and Nibalii were 2 riders back):eek:

He did. Particularly funny as Froome put in his little dig as it flattened out and they almost hit the top.

Phil's rooting is 100% driven by who he thinks sells more of his product. English-speaking winners are good for business.

And he's drunk most of the time TBH.

Once you accept how biased, crazy and quite possibly hammered Phil and Paul are, it's okay.

They are at their pinnacle when we get to the vineyards and Chateau's in France. Wine is their best topic.

Sherwin "if a sprinter touches his brakes now he'll lose 20 to 30 places" I think I've heard this said on every flat stage for the last twenty years! Still Cheshire/the Wirral seem to have got a stranglehold on the commentating, Phil and Chris are from within 5 miles of each other, and Paul is from just round the bend of the Mersey.

Paul: "And there is the dome, which cost half a billion Euros"
Phil: "And just to add, that dome was half a billion Euros."

How many times have they absolutely repeated the same "insight" the other just said a second earlier? It's almost as if they aren't hearing each other.
