Phil managed to squeeze in an early "heads of state" yesterday. It wasn't the full "..and all the heads of state are present and accounted for!", though. That will come later in the first mountain stage.

I think Paul also slipped in a quick "a certain [rider X]". It used to always be LA - but can now be about any significant contender.

Did Phil use his usual "rider x grits his teeth"and "rider y kicks again" in the bunchsprints so far?

Watching Paul and Phil is like watching a dubbed Chinese film. I can't stand it. If I ever hear them say "Front end of the main field." again I will cut my arm off.

I laughed when Phil said they hung the Olympic rings from London Bridge blah blah then Paul repeated word for word what Phil said with even more emotion in his voice. Ho hum.

Phil genuinely thought there was a member of the public / imposter riding at the back of the peloton riding in a black jersey with red shorts, bless him (it was Purito in a rain jacket)

There's no doubt at all that he's losing it, cognitively.

Any suitcases of courage this year yet?

I await PL unpacking his suitcase for retirement.

In some ways it's not his fault but every time I see a clip of Armstrong charging up a climb, it's PL's voice that provides the gushing soundtrack. In audio terms, the two are irrevocably linked.

not to mention he'd met a couple of people who's been swimming in the olympic stadium..

the builders must have dug a hell of a hole to make such a big puddle

It all depends on who Phil is partnered with these days. While Phil may be senile, I'm beginning to think Paul is secretly evil.

Liggett trying to work out who Tinkoff Saxo were leading out at the end of stage 3 was simply priceless. Surely they have a guy by the name of Alberto Contador?
