Who lives in Boulder .....

Mork and Mindy...? All kidding aside, it sounded in the Skype video like Mr. P's affections may be pledged to Paddy McQuaid. Mr. P has always had the air of someone "in with the in crowd", McQuaid, The ASO Frenchies, His Lanceness... he likes to think he's swimming with the Sharks,

Its about The Big Lie. Tell it loud enough and often enough the sheep will follow.

who? private message me if you don't want to say here:confused:

I'm prolly wrong...

This sounds like an old old piece of news. Par for Phil's brain.

Actually, I think we are giving too much credit to Phil for being aware of the actual witness et al tha t testified, and this may be his way of discrediting Tyler's motives...

I may be way off...

Mork was spotted on the Postal/Discovery bus more than once...

The interesting question about Liggett is whether he actually believes what he's saying. It's pretty hard to imagine he'd be that naive, but he sure looks like he's speaking with conviction. People like to toss around sociopathy with LA, but one feature (at least of a Machiavellian personality) is the capacity to manipulate people who are useful to them. Wonder whether Liggett is actually under LA's spell.

Are you serious?? Remember that pic of Phil on the private jet with a Starbucks in his hand?
He looked so smug

Phil with the full fat latte on Lance's jet... All jokes aside. It's a very serious accusation he is making that Federal Investigators were attempting to bribe witnesses. I hope he can back it up.

I think I made it 3 minutes in before I couldn't listen any longer. I guess I wasn't just imagining things when I found myself cringing while listening to him and Paul commentate on a cycling race lately. Good thing for Steephill!

Phil and Paul and Bobke have been PR for Lance for too long

Oh I wish we could all write enough letters to make it so that Phil and Paul and Bob Roll never announce a bike race ever again.

I am so sick of them. And this latest video just shows how off the deep end Phil is.

Wow. This is unfortunate. I have to say I am losing all respect for Phil. He's not acting like he has any journalistic integrity - but I suppose he hasn't really been a journalist all these years, either. Sad. And he is spouting out and out lies - like why the Feds dropped the case (not for lack of evidence).

Phil is now 69. His world looks the same upside down!

Male menopause missed him but he is now being overtaken by many senior moments.

Spends most of his time in South Africa (Paul Sherwen permanently in Uganda) and that hot African sun can cause havoc with Englishmen (and mad dogs)

The sad thing about Phil is that I don't think he is deliberately lying when he claims the feds offered to pay witnesses. Facts, names, events, they are a blur to him, whether it is racing or anything else. Since he is used to talking for a living, to fill the dead air he makes stuff up out of the bits he can remember. He is used to having Paul there to correct him.

Out of sheer incompetence he has beome one of Trotsky's useful idiots.

I think he knows exactly what he's doing.

Not to split hairs but I believe the useful idiots crack was from Lenin.

In any event, Phil is talking about the one thing he's truly expert on: taking money to lie. Like Armstrong, he figures if he's doing it, others must be doing it, too. Maybe in their respective fields, Liggit and Armstrong have a lot in common.

I always liked Phil, despite knowing he was getting paid to tout Lance. Broadcasters get paid to lie about brands, I figured, so why should Phil be any different?

But this is something different. What we see here transcends everyday commerce and descends pretty deeply, I think, into personal corruption and perfidiousness. And it has a whiff of the sinister about it.

Stop while you can, Phil.

I thought I read some other posts a while back describing Armstrong coming on board as an investor in a mining venture that Phil was associated with. Does anyone have a reference link? (to an item that verifies this in some way)

Phil's sidekick, Paul Sherwen, lives in Uganda and has an interest in gold mine.

Per Wiki

Sherwen lives in Kampala, Uganda where he has interests in a gold mine, commuting between Uganda and the United States regularly.

That maybe the mining venture that Phil Liggett has some association.

We all need to hammer the CYCLING MEDIA to literally hammer the hell out of Ligget on this one. I don't expect the WSJ, Sunday Times or NY Times to follow up on this, but the Velonews', CN's and other cycling specific media NEEDS to literally DESTROY Phil's reputation as a journalist on this one.

I wonder when Phil "knew" what was going on? Did he have a Sestriere moment? He had been in cycling for 20 years, he can't be that ignorant. A decade of knowingly lying and still going strong, he has to be one of Lance's greatest assets.

Phil really should be put in a home. He's incoherent and baking pies right out of the sky.

I feel sorry I used to like him. This old fool is an Armstrong enabler. He's part of the problem in cycling.
