You have to be kidding!

Two photo's taken over 20 years apart, one smiling the other grimacing, one a rider at the end of a 3 week race the other with god knows how many extra kilos....

FFS!

We all know how HGH makes jaw-lines big like Barry Bonds. What I am curious to know is if there are little hints within the peloton that may let us know something is not quite so honest (Transfusions... EPO... Etc.)

A few years back, someone hinted to the fact that many top pros have pasty pink, if not white lips. I'm not sure this is realistic, but I do notice it from time to time now. The cynic in my can't help but point it out now :p .There must be some physical hint.

Any ideas?

One physical hint was Ricco smiling while riding away from a suffering Cadel Evans and others.

Why do retired cyclists let themselves go to seed in many cases. I realise GL has had health problems over the years but still....

He really needs to smile more.

Don't be shy... If I'm off-base, I have no problem admitting I'm wrong.

Your wrong. There has never been any innuendo around Cadel in Aus/NZ cycling scene, even in his early days.

I hate this sort of crap. Come up with the evidence and then present it. Don't post crap as a fishing expedition asking others to support some vague allegation.

"I have heard"...yeah whatever.

whilst i agree evans is probably one of the least suspectable riders in the current peloton, i don't see why should you attack a poster. if you disagree, you need not attack people. his 'crap' is no more crap that you have left all over this forum. when you attack people don't whine when you get the same in return. that lesson seems lost on you as i have tried to show you. i am not surprised.

Once again, I'm fairly certain Evans was popped for steroids in his former life as a VTT/MTB racer. Am I recalling something I may have 'heard', or did he test pos? Help me out, guys...

Nope. Where do people come up with these absurd ideas? People say "what evidence do you have to say he isn't doping"?. Well what evidence do you have to say he does? oh because he rode on a team(s) that were dirty. Well I guess that makes everyone guilty.

Bring up some proper arguements with substance please. I find it funny how people will try to find any sort of mannerism, comment or physical feature that indicates doping. I think those people have the real problems. If he is not under suspicion then he deserves to be seen as innocent just like any rider.

Sorry Kenney, it's just too ironic the same day I snapped this pic your wife was explaining to me the physiological signs of test and HGH...as she was accusing her competitor. Editors note, a few moths later Kenney went on to test +, and his wife smashed the 2K masters World Record.

Can't wait to see how many pics I have of guys from Papps list.

Judging people merely by how they look. It's a good plan. I think there's a name for this.

Eugenics, I think.

Thank god I'm not a pro. I have the so called tell tale signs of HGH - slightly pronounced brow, thick jawline. (Interestingly, known HGH users rarely seem to show this). Plus I'm balding a bit - so that's the steroids sorted. My mild eczema on my hand is clearly an excuse to get a TUE for cortosteroids, too.

The slight belly is down to alcohol though, I'll admit that.

Ha, it's a bit fishy that he manages to look like a 45 year old when he's 28. Any research been done on the effect of steriods on aging?

It's just lack of fat, dude. I looked like that too, fat depravation and lots of racing/training.

To suggest that Evans isn't doping when he is at the sharp end (well, just behind the sharp end) of a doped peloton is stupid. His being "known" as a clean rider is what is banded about in Aussie circles, and put forth as "fact." There are a lot of Americans who believe Armstrong is clean...

Agreed
And one must appreciate the description of Evans as "one of the cleanest." Using the superlative here leaves room for plenty. If everyone else drinks a litre, and I only a fifth, I'm still the "most sober."

Appologies. I wasn't trying to imply that he was doping, I was trying to clarify my questionable memory... I guess I was wrong...

A 'description of Evans' by who? By Cadel himself? Perhaps not. I like the Clinic a whole lot and it has loads of great (factual) information in it. Unfortunately, it also has lots and lots of unsubstantiated heresay in it too. Maybe we need a Pedants Forum added where we can all sight and highlight any damning information from interviews, etc? Woe betide the 1st rider who uses the word 'prepare' or 'preparation' in any interview! Or any rider who has the temerity to win a race with nobody else in the picture - another clear sign of doping for the Pedants Forum!!
