My theory is that Contador's disclosure will be accompanied with no lesser curses than Armstrong's one. Yes, I won't argue just because it can't be effective.

Vino is just one of many lucky guys. There were about 100-120 guys, however only 25-30 names were revealed. So God knows why Gazzetta decided to write about Cipollini, apparently having much evidence on different non-spanish cyclists.

Because of his character, Italian journos not to fond of Cipo.

Do not want to go too of topic but saying Manolo 'VENGA VENGA!' Saiz is like your second father is almost the same as saying Armstrong is like your long lost brother.

Just saying.

I must say it was good to read Basso's 2006 Giro was just due to his natural ability. Gotta give it to him, he is consistent in his bending the truth.

What a Tour that would have been in 2006, the Full Force Phonak Phonies, Ully the Bloodbully and Bloody Basso.

Some sort of vanishing twin?

Dave.

You really expect anything less from those posters!!!
To be fair to sniper, he does not have an excessive use of exlamation marks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:D

But, we have Alberto Leon, this 'doc' and the other one is for others to find out.

Like it Dave.

People need to know doping is just like drugs, there really are people in the background you do not want to mess with.

Hmmm, Xavier Tondo comes to my mind

You guys are a bit too quick to suggest murder without knowing any details about this man, his age, his condition or basically anything.

Is Fuentes not a Conquistador :D

You are suggesting Fuentes was a one man sting operation?

I am surprised he is even alive I must say. He is at the heart of Spanish sportive succes of the last 20 years, in all sports that is. Success also mean gambling, international drug trade et all.

And here I thought committing perjury on doping practices was just an American thing.

Dave.

I would doubt if committing perjury in a Spanish court would be have the same effect on an Italian as it would on a Spaniard....Not an expert on European law though. |I think Basso would only be bothered if he went back to Spain?

I find it unbelievable that he is still clinging to this defense when he was the only one who could go with Armstrong in the high hills and since he came back after his ban he has been nothing like the rider he was before:mad:

to be sure, one guy with potentially damning evidence against fuentes commits suicide two years ago.
a few days before the trial, one of the prosecutor's witnesses becomes so ill that he has to retire. (I'm not finding a link and cant' remember the guys name. anybody?)
today, a prosecutor's witness dies of a sudden heart attack, one friggin day before going to trial. he's said to have had damning evidence.

The first two cases, fine, but today's case is really odd (in the absence of other information, at least).

Again with the Tondo BS? Sigh.

Damning evidence against Fuentes and against himself, you mean. Alberto León was charged too, just like Ufe, Yolanda Fuentes, Saiz, Belda and Labarta.

I think you're misremembering things. You must be referring to José Luis Merino Batres, who was also charged, but he didn't become so ill he had to retire a few days before the trial. He has Alzheimer's disease.

His damning evidence was going to be a medical check he did on Manzano last December. Hardly an irreplaceable witness.

Posting conspiracy theories about people dieing based on pure speculation seems to be less than useful. If evidence arises then it should be discussed.

so you agree he had potentially damning evidence against mighty people. that's all we need for a conspiracy theory. :D

I think Batres is misremembering things. At least that's what he likes to pretend. He's diagnosed with Altzheimer . And note that the judge's decision to not call Batres on the stand was made 4 days, I repeat, four days before the start of the trial. All very convenient. And suspect.

His damning evidence was going to be a medical check he did on Manzano last December. Hardly an irreplaceable witness.
that's you assuming.
in fact we don't really know what he had to show or what he wanted to say.

Even the Pope's retirement is surrounded with suspicions, rumors about blackmailing, etc. Normal people (i.e. not clinic posters) are seriously considering the Pope was blackmailed into retirement.
In the Puerto case we're dealing with serious criminals (see FGL's post), and we're not supposed to find these circumstances just a little bit suspect?

That's not me assuming, that's me reporting on what the media has said.
And the media is so believable...

Really, Alzheimer, the oldest trick in the book, what was the name of that New York maffioso again pretending to be a nut?

So, we have Alzheimer, we have suicide, we have sudden deaths and we have the Spanish press...

Where is the conspiracy? A lot of strange circumstances I would say.
