That makes perfect sense, given Bassos resentment.....
Imagine being paying for doping, being charged with doping, yet not getting ALL the dope you have paid for, and therefor not winning the race....
I always thought Tyler Hamiltons rage about "you are saying I took someone else's blood!!!!!!" had an element of truth in it.
Similarly Bassos resentment.

Could be detrimental to his health, but that book would be the Clinic-lurkers wet dream!
